This is not why uncle roger was afraid to criticize Gordon Ramsay. But Gordon indeed didnt make any mistake that deserve to get critics while making egg fried rice. He do all steps rightm except use the fork 😁(i am from indonesia, so i know how to make nasi goreng 😁)

Gordon is a perfectionists when it comes to cooking and he is very considerate when it comes to traditions on every cooking ways of every nation. He did the research first before he do it. As what he said in an interview few years back on his greatest escape show. He doesn't want to do something not right on any traditional food of every country he visited. He has a lot of respect for every ingredients. And anyway, its his name on that show not any other chef. So, if he did a mistake its his face and name will be ruined..😂🤣😂🤣😂

Yes, it seems he intentionally upload it. Usually Gordon Ramsay only uploads one Dish from his Food travel series, Indonesia already got one, which was just a Rendang Omelette, but out of nowhere he uploaded a 2nd dish from his indonesia episode, which was the Nasi Goreng. LMAO

actually, mr. ramsay is quite a nice person. i worked at 2 of his restaurants at caesar's palace (hell's kitchen and gordon ramsay's pub and grill) here in las vegas he comes to visit once in a while he treats people nicely. that mean potty mouth person on tv is just that, his tv persona.

Gordon Ramsay truly does know more about Asian cooking than other chefs, primarily because he's taken time to learn from Asian chefs from different countries. People often see how he can speak pretty harshly, but watching him in different settings has let me see that you'll only witness that harsh side of him when he faces something/someone incompetent, irresponsible, and unprofessional. In his trips to Asia, he's been criticized by traditional Asian chefs for doing things incorrectly, and he's taken those as opportunities to learn. Also, when he sees someone really trying their best and doing well but being harsh on themselves, he actually pulls them up.

As a Malaysian, and my country being part of the "Rumpun Nusantara" (which is another name for SEA countries, especially Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei), I can attest that Gordon's fried rice is legit. There was nothing wrong with it, from the ingredients to the utensils used (except for that fork in the end), and Uncle Roger, being a Malaysian himself, knows this. Hence the high rating and approval. Oh, and we don't usually toss our fried rice like that. That's too high a toss..LOL

Hes able to do it properly because he actually made an error making rice in a cook-off tournament, definitely learned from that experience. Theres youtube videos out there of him getting I think getting third place in a cookoff because he accidently made the rice tangy vs the typical texture of fried rice and him apologizing to the chefs for the mistake.

I respect gordon. He is really open minded about food and culture. Meanwhile jamie so aroggance about the way he cook. Thats why gordon never forget about basic of cooking and make a really comfort food.

vaiocr23 exactly other than he left some rice on the wok and hes on a hurry, thats a pretty good cooked fried rice. while Jamie Oliver murdered the fried rice with putting water and did so many unacceptable things to Asians cooking fried rice. Cooking Fried rice is very simple to Asians no need for unnecessary ingredients. Its just one way to cook leftover rice or food from the day before so need to make it complicated.

In fact, we cannot find any mistakes from Gordon's video. He's doing excellent. Like, fried the sauce on wok before mixing it with rice, which shows he really understands Asian way.

True about Asians having two kitchens! We have the 'indoor' kitchen used for ordinary cooking and the 'dirty kitchen' where all the magic happens - grilling, roasting, grating coconut meat on wood stool, cooking over wood fire, cleaning banana leaves for cooking, etc. You should totally watch Uncle Roger's reaction to Jamie Oliver's fried rice!

Yes! In the part that Gordon Ramsay looks like he is in a hurry. Professional chefs are like that. Imagine working inside a big restaurant and you have some customers who are waiting for their orders. Those chefs are fast working but they have the best results. ☝️

Wow yellow shirt guy know what he's talking about, im impressed, wok hay its all about the fire, u must use big fire so the fried rice will smell delicious , when the fire meet the rice when u shake the wok, that's when the magic happen, very nice of u man. 😁😁👍👍👍. when you use the outdoor kitchen, you bring out all the stinky, tasty ingredients, like fermented shrimp paste, etc. etc. also, you know the flame is going to be high, so there will be a lot of smoke. can't have that in an indoor kitchen. all your mother's curtains will get stinky and worse you'll trigger the fire alarm. when the outdoor kitchen is used, you know the good stuff is coming out.

He roasted Gordon on other stuff, so yeah, no fear involved on the video. Gordon's egg fried rice is just perfect, no flaw to pick on. I'm saying this as a half-Indonesian with Indonesian wife and used to live in Jakarta and Malang for over a decade. Nasi Goreng is my favorite food and I can make a pretty decent Nasi Goreng. But Gordon's Nasi Goreng is better than mine.

Gordon probbly watched uncle roger before cooking fried rice because Uncle Roger already roasted 2 british chef cpz of their egg fried rice. Plus Gordon knows Asian cooking since he travelled all over the world to learn all the cuisine so salute to him. He really does has the right to boast.
