Do you think it’s easier to install the seal on the spindle rather than on the hub assembly? Or is it just preference

your stemco coworker tech say before if the ware in the spindle is more than 8 thousands of an ich it has to be change and you say between 6 and 10 thousands of an inch , which one is correct ?

A spindle that has wear on the bottom in excess of .008" should be replaced as the wear changes the center line of the hub and will lead to wheel seals failing prematurely.

Sorry, as a trash truck mechanic I've replaced hundreds of leaking seals and 95% of those have been stemco or CR. 4% have been a mix of Mechanix brand and other off brands. Probably 1% have been national 37 series and 1 38 series and most if not all were obvious improper bearing adjustment.
