I'm not disabled myself but but I've been playing for a few weeks to help fill up a team. Sitting low to the ground gives a nice feeling of speed and it takes a lot of smartness and technique to maneuver the wheelchair past opponents. Equally as fun to play as ordinary basketball.

I have nothing but respect for these guys, not letting physical disabilities like this get in the way of playing good basketball, and some these guys are seriously good.

They are good but because of the 15 point bs system you'll never see the best of the best even on an Olympic team. There's a point system of people with the most severe lower body injuries listed as 1 (your above waist paraplegic etc) on up to someone missing a toe as a 4. It's a PC reason why you see players that are terrible like #12 on the US team never coming out of the game. They need the 1(most severe) on the court to keep the 15 point quota. So many great wheelchair basketball players get snubbed for the Olympics because of this. You've seen nothing if you think these players are seriously good.

believe it or not a lot of us disabled folk love the kind of humor i see in most of the top comments. What sucks is when people feel sorry for us and treat us as if we are "fragile". When someone makes fun of you in a friendly way it assumes your strong enough to take it and makes you feel like your a part of the group. I remember going to a party a few months after i broke my back and a particularly funny friend of mine was absolutely killing it with the wheelchair jokes. It was great, so much better than people pitying you.

There could be a harden and curry but the others are very athletic or secondary is athletism like wilt, LeBron,giannis so you would have to be really strong and have a very light wheelchair to make it go flying up then it would probably be a offensive foul because he hit someone going up.

its a lower rim and they train for years, also since their legs are not functional or just no existant they have more time focusing on their upper body strength so its easy for them
