I drive a 2y/o 16 seater Mercedes. I wish I had as much room as this when loading wheelchairs. We couldn't use the front straps (as shown in this clip) as there simply isn't the space. Our tail lift doesn't have a strap that you fasten behind the wheelchair user either - mind you, I've been doing this job nearly 30 years & driven a great deal of different tail-lift vehicles & never have I seen one with a strap. There is a flap on all tail lifts (certainly every one I have seen) which is there to prevent the wheelchair from rolling off. (behind the guy's feet at 53s)

I have been asked about the positioning of the lap belt (no shoulder belt available). Should the lap belt come under the armrests so that it sits against the pelvis or over the top of the armrests and stomach?

I am concerned as to what is preventing the chair moving sideways, especially at the front when taking a corner, or if there was an RTA? The front straps surely should be fastened wider than the wheels of the chair?

Compared to a regular wheelchair with the big tires, this one is a lot easier to get in and out of your car as well as cruising through small areas a regular one has trouble with.

Poor demonstration. The caregiver or driver shall never be on the lift platform with the wheelchair. It is designed to withhold 1 person in wheelchair. In any event of falling, the caregiver will grab onto anything within his reach, in this case the wheelchair, and fall with it.
