I actually LOVE the light green! It's a very unusual colour to see on a custom. If you put a vinyl roof on it and paint the interior the same colour (i recommend either black or cream) it could pass for an era correct custom street rod. After all, it was hot in those days to weld the doors shut on anything custom, so don't be too upset with the vanishing panel lines. Love your work, keep up the vids! :D

you can take a dental pick, and carefully scrape the panel lines to deepen them. You remove a tiny bit of material, and it makes the panel lines look like new again

That wasnt the intended color? well it looks really neat in that shade! at first i thought the silver paint had went cloudy... but then you said bare metal and 5 times wow... has to be a mislabeled bottle eh? i appreciate the stuff i learn whilst watching your uploads ;) and the sentiment of having fun and passing the hobby forward... beautifully said ;)

Watched this video twice only because I enjoyed the work you did. It's odd that the paint color didn't come out as antifreeze but I like it just the same. The shade of green is almost like a color offered to the a real GM car; "metallic mint green"👍👍

It came out good. That green color looks not quite like anti-freeze but it does look almost like a factory color from that time so it works out.

Paint looks great. If it makes you feel better, it looks spot on for late 60s early 70s green. I owned a '70 green Chevelle (real one, 4 doors) and it was that colour exactly. Makes for an authentic looking custom.

I know paint is "correct" anti freeze, but it sure looks good. Looks like factory GM color. Your grandson is one lucky kid! Has grandfather restoring HWs for him!

There's somebody in my neighborhood who has a real Camaro "that" color. I think it came out fantastic especially the fresh black against the green. Nice job...

I bought Kandy Blue last weekend in spray can and gave a custom 4 light coats. Wasn’t the blue I was looking for but I like the finish. Your Camaro looks great even with no clear it looks real nice! Maybe a spectra yellow first then the green over?

Hey Brother, great informational videos! The original Hot Wheels axles tended to start bending down. Way back then it would drive me crazy. How does one go about straightening the axles on these cars?

Even though that's not the green you were going for, it's still a fantastic looking pale green color. Painting the roof would probably complete the look, especially if you painted the roof white.

ive heard of using a dental pick to sort of trace the panel lines scoring the metal to make the lines deeper

Maybe if the car had a zink coating before the paint. It looks great even if its not antifrees. Definatly unique. I like it ! Thanks for posting it!

*try mixing yellow and light blue. That should give you a light green*

Antifreeze green works well with a polished base (chrome) the paint is very transparent, therefore the results your getting. Your seeing the silver base. Try shooting the paint on a peice of junk chrome metal like a bike handle bar or rim and see the results. The car looks good as it is now. Maybe the next project?

Hi, quick question. By replacing the "mushroomed" over body mounts with 2-56 screws, does that take any of the monetary value away from them, especially if you restored them?

I really love that color, I think if you had somewhat of a tan color or something close to a peanut butter color interior, that would definitely complement the paint.

nice work interesting color to it. Just a light correction at 2:53 you call it a US car but it's a Hong Kong car. You can see Hong Kong on the base at the times you show it in the vice. US had a much lighter color blue for the glass and HK car's had the door lines. Also the bulge in the rear is from the factory when they spun/pressed the post in the thin metal pushed up on. I have a few that have that same issue and a slight half moon look where the paint wore off.

I think the green paint is sexy on that cute little car. Maybe paint the roof black like it was in the beginning of your video and then do rally stripes going down the hood.
