When a job goes wrong… #plumber
In this episode, a job features that wasnt supposed too... I was on site replacing a simple flow turbine in a baxi duotec..when.. bam! Snaps... so I then need to go give the customer the bad news and source a new right hand block...
Followed by a Worcester boiler with pressure issues, the customer cant top the pressure up..
And finally a Basin waste to change with a pedestal siliconed to high heaven...

Baxi have started putting seals and washers in their diverter valve boxes now but i was shocked when I saw a seal pack inside a Duotec primary heat exchanger box I replaced a few months ago there was even a burner door seal you just never can tell if you will end up with a seal pack or not 😂 I've replaced loads flow turbines on Duotecs but luckily never managed to snap one. Maybe it's to do with hard water in your area. I use a Wera 18mm Joker spanner as it fits snug on them. Keep up the good work Dan 😎

That basin mate is threaded, you can just thread it up the waste instead of pushing it.

Baxi are not the only ones guilty of not providing washers and it really winds me up, add the washers to the price of the part and get it in the box. The last thing I want to be doing is looking at a diagram trying to figure out what washers I need to add to the quote. Very time consuming and frustrating. Well done on the 5k Danny. 👍🏻

Basin mate for the win 🏆 🙌 I don’t know why when you spend £££ on spare parts they can’t throw in some o rings that cost pence in the box…Worcester am one of the few that actually sort you out with spare o rings

Really cheap of Baxi not include washers🤷🏼‍♂️ one thing about worcester and vaillant they do give you everything you could possibly need! Nicely done👊🏼👍🏼

Cheers mate, yeh it’s really poor of them, I don’t understand why they don’t. I’d happily pay and extra few pound on top of the price, just make sure the correct ones are in the box 😂

They are easy to snap if over tightned the turbine, had the same issue. Also them screws can be siezed on brass manifold especially if someone's cross threaded it.

Basically no demand on the display, when tap opened. Then check if the little red led light has lit up on the sensor. If not. It’s 99% going to be that turbine :)

Baxi have always been tight on their spares. Washers should come with the part as their MI’s stress

No demand light on the fascia, and then the little red led sensor light on top of the turbine wasn’t lighting up :) I’ll show it in more detail on the next one, that above is just the basics, there’s a little more too it :) thanks mate.

ffs drain down again. how much are new washers? to us its. are manufactures making it overly hard. their own guys know what they need to use. why isnt that being feeded back. and supplied. villlant the same. bosh got beter.. auto air vents 1 manufacturer 44 another 13 its the same part!, are they stress testing parts now? making their own? just think about british gas and cadent gas safe. full insurance customer yet the boiler wasnt serviced to manufactures. it wasnt a rebadged boiler. i sat there and watched. bin bags taken from behind gas fires. passed the year before. your good. taking on jobs others wouldnt. crack on. wait till you get a bosch with an old pump. cant buy a new one. new pump, so pcb and harness needs replacing. dave city plumbing bangor did you lie to me?
