I hate the way my brain works, I just want to like myself, I know Iam not a bad person. Menopause has definitely made this feeling 10x worse

This video in itself ended up triggering me 😭 I never learned strategies for conflict resolution growing up. My parents never helped me with it either they always fed into my fears and taught me to never bring up an issue until it blows up in my face and to cut people off because only they knew what was truly best for me. So my only resolution when theres emotional outbursts has been to just end the relationship(platonic or romantic) and move on until the cycle repeats itself with the next person. I dont have any positive experiences to try and recall in moments of conflict so when I try to slow down i just end up confirming all my fears by remembering every fight ive ever had with anyone.

I so needed this! I work in retail and the environment can be so hectic and overstimulating (non stop line for over 3 hours and multiple conversations going on right next to me) it's incredibly difficult to stay calm

At like age 50 something, this male finally got help for my emotional disregulation, overwhelm and more. I have benefited from a lot of interventions and would highlight an SSRI prescription (Zoloft) and cognitive therapy as being most impactful.

None of this is strange. None of this is new. This all just sounds like the same advice given to neurotypical brains repackaged with different vocabulary for those of with ADHD. …As if an ADHD brain can’t see through the BS. So. Will these things work? Sure! If you’re properly medicated and no longer experiencing the worsts symptoms of ADHD, yes. It all works. Not medicated? Good luck!
