@@stephcurrytheg.o.a.t the only thing that kept Roy out of the discussion (excluding his degenerative knee tissue) was his lack of athleticism/explosiveness. His prime was short lived, but during it he was insane. Supremely skilled, extremely intelligent, sneaky athletic, tall and strong enough to be a problem, one of the best shooters in the league (off the dribble, with range), and as clutch as they come. He was the cornerstone in what we see today... bigger guards playing on the ball using their shifty change of speed to get to the right spots. Roy changed the idea of the prototype shooting guards to a more fluid position in what we see in Harden, P.G. Luka Booker, etc...

I miss watching Brandon Roy, he definitely coulda been a top 75 talent and he’s definitely one of the biggest what ifs ever outside of drose. These highlights take me back to my middle school days

Roy reminded me of Thomas Shepherd in the movie “Above the Rim” . Effortless, clutch, and unstoppable!

Man look.. Injuries cut a future Hof career short. This man Brandon Roy was a beast. He had every shot in his arsenal. No weakness except his health

B Roy was so dope. I remember that OT buzzer beater vs the Rockets. Shame he had injuries rob his potential.

Him & Dame were a perfect fit man. I was younger then, but looking up the story of why he retired actually hurts. I knew he had a shaky knee situation but I thought it was fixable. He never really had a chance at a long career smh. I’m glad he played as hard as he did because if you watched him during this time there’s no way you were not entertained.

Healthy Roy and Oden is fun to watch. I was excited when he made a comeback in Minnesota, but he got injured again, so heartbreaking

What sets him apart is his ability to do everything with his left that he can do with his right (ambidextrous) . Along with shooting, athleticism, and great passing vision.. easily one of the hardest guys to guard in nba history, but he was missing the most important factor of them all.. health , if only he had good knees. Same with oden
