The attention to women's sports is truly focused on the girls who are proud of who they are and their fans support is incredible. America's national treasure is on full display and that is the reason why Americans are supporting these women in sports. Proud of all of them.

The biggest takeaway is that they decided this Freshman Matchup deserved the first National Broadcast game in 25 years! It's a shame they didn't play in the same conference and meet twice a year.

It's crazy that just 4 years ago was the first game ESPN aired of WNCAA. Just 4 years ago. Fast forward to today and every network is scrambling to air these games. I mean, to go from literally zero veiwers for an Elite game 4 years ago to 12.3Million (higher than the any men's games) viewers for this years Elite 8 game (15+M for the Final 4), shows just how impactful Caitlin has been to the sport. 100 years from now, her legacy will be that she literally, siinglehandedly, propelled the women's game (ncaa and wnba) to the juggarnaut that it is becoming.

Geno being Geno. lol Clark scored 21, Bueckers w/ 18 and Aliyah w/ 18. But what ended the game was Kate’s 2 turnovers (ball slipped out of her hands), then Anna Makurat nailed double 3-pointers in the last 2 mins, I think.

Pete Maravich LSU 1967-1970 averaged 44 points per game, Clark 28. He averaged 1,222 points per year, Clark 988 per year. Total college games played Maravich 83, Clark 139. Pete Maravich could only play 3 college years. Freshmen could not play. AND no 3-point line.

Pete took 38 shots/game to Clark's 20. Give her 18 extra shots each game at her career .462 fg % = 8.16 made shots/game or an extra 16.32 points per game X her 139 game career = an extra 2,268 points for a total of 6,219 points in her career. Pete had 3,667 in his career. He averaged roughly 1,200/season so if he had played a fourth season he would have ended his career with about 5,000 points. He didn't have the three point line but he did have his dad as his coach. Caitlin led the NCAA in scoring and assists twice, no other women's player has done that even once. However, contrasting men versus women's records isn't a fair or reasonable way to compare the players or their games. Just give much respect to both and enjoy the show.

@UConnNation12

Absolutely! Caitlin shoots back up 3's going to her left and gets in trouble when she has to pick up her dribble. She has average handles and has little to no mid-range game at all. Paige excels on all 3 levels, doesn't take bad shots, led the team in blocks as a guard when she was forced to play the 4 because of the injuries. Actually Juju Watkins is a much better all around player than Caitlin as well and much more athletic. She's a really good player and the fan base all wanted to see the girl shooting 35 foot 3's from the logo. And she can pass but you hit the nail on the head with maturity. Paige gets mad but Caitlin whines, and that's a huge difference. Everyone loves playing with Paige but I don't know how long the honeymoon is going to last if Indiana doesn't start winning and Caitlin is still chucking them up from the cheap seats. Until Caitlin works on her handles and develops a mid-range game, top level defenders can corner her in on the double teams outside of the 3 point line.

For the record, CC shot 7/21 from the field and 4/12 from 3, terrible. moreover, she banked in a 3 from the CORNER, a totally lucky shot. She should have shot 6/22 and 3/12, absolutely horrendous. She also had only 5 assists and 3 rebounds.....and 5 TOs! Paige shot 7/18, but 2 were half court heaves ending periods. So, basically she 44% from the field and 50% from 3, and had 9 boards, 8 assists and only 2 TOs. More importantly, Iowa was a big underdog but they hit a 3 to cut the lead to single digits half way through the 4th. Now all the pressure was on UConn, so Paige nailed a 3. Iowa came right back down and hit another 3 to cut it to single digits again, and Paige answered again with another 3 to put Uconn back up by double digits and that was it. CC didn't score in the entire forth qtr until a minute left ( in your "highlights ") on a drive that Bueckers did not contest, not wanting to foul. That's it, 2 pts in the 4th on an uncontested layup after the game was decided.....in a contest that as within 8 points in the 4th, twice, when the stars needed to step up to advance to the elite 8. Paige did, twice, to break their backs. CC shrank to nothing.
