I am going CRAZY waiting for season 9! I'm like trying to speed up the time til it comes on! Lol. Lucas and Elizabeth are IT!!!!

I could only think of a couple of things One, maybe it’s Founders Day and it’s a special surprise attraction. Or two maybe the kids were learning about the Wright brothers and air transportation and Lucas surprised them and Elizabeth with a large example of transportation with cuddle benefits!❤️😍

Technically, it is not a “hot air” balloon. It does not get lift from hot air. It is in fact a hydrogen balloon. In the show we refer to it as a “balloon”.

The other thing I wondered was did Lucas has a picnic basket filled with goodies tucked away in there so they could either enjoy a meal in the sky or perhaps land in a pretty area for an intimate picnic together!! I don't know how far into the season this takes place, but I love how easy and in love Lucas & Elizabeth are in all the sneak peeks. Obviously the whole town knows they are courting and they are so in love they don't care who sees them. Could Lucas have a ring in the picnic basket and propose to her??

I think the conversation involved the wonder of being up in the air and the joy of being together. I can not wait for the season to start. You are a joy to listen to.

I think the Balloon is near the school for a science Lesson. I am not quite sure what Lucas and Elizabeth are talking about in the balloon, however I am getting excited to watch season 9 and hear this conversation. I really want to hear Elizabeth say “I Love you” to Lucas before he says it to her and maybe that is what they are talking about.

I think it was just for the joy and excitement of being together in the balloon

Not too sure why the balloon is by the school, maybe because it was a easy place to cast off, but I'm think he is doing this for Elizabeth, could be they had a discussion about flying and like the library, he made it happen. I not thinking it was really about the school because Robert was there and he had graduated last year. I think when they Were talking, they could have been talking about the future...not an engagement, and I think maybe she's asking if he would become bored staying in Hope Valley now that she hears and sees all he has done in the pass. Maybe that's why he says "I've never been so sure"

I think Lucas arranged for the hot air balloon. In your Oct.30, 2021 video which examined some of the items in Lucas’ office, you mentioned a picture on the wall which could be a hot air balloon. This current scene seems to expand on that and may be designed to help us understand exactly who Lucas Bouchard is…… I believe we will come to recognize Lucas as a sort of “Renaissance Man”….well educated, talented, speaks multiple languages, well travelled, well read, charismatic, handsome, and with interest in and knowledge of a vast array of subjects.

I’m not sure why the balloon is there, but Lucas likes to do “grand” and that would be a pretty grand, one of a kind, proposal sight! 🤔🥰 Can it please be March already!!! 🗓

It seemed like Nathan & Bill were not too happy as they were riding and talking and Bill said so many changes were coming and it appeared as if they looked toward the balloon at that time. I know there were some adults standing around but it looked like mostly the school children so maybe it was something special for them...but especially for Lucas and Elizabeth...maybe he had it brought there to surprise her???

We know Lucas was either at or is fascinated by the World's Fair and aviation (office displays). I think he has ties to people in this field and that he brought the balloon in to help her teach a school lesson and to romance her. I also think maybe he is bringing a mini World's Fair to Hope Valley...similar to the Christmas festival.i think they are discussing the future in terms of his businesses. I think what will give her "pause" as she gets to know him is his wanderlust spirit.. a guy who travels and seeks adventure..I think the new Arthus Gilchrist character is somehow linked to that and she is worried she is tying him down. However, in the air I think he is going to take over watching Jack while she teaches and cutting back his time in his businesses which is why she asks him if he is sure.

I think Lucas was getting a haircut in the barbershop one day and saw the picture of the air balloon on the wall, and it reminded him of when he was younger. He had once visited an exhibition with air balloons and had gone up with an instructor a few times and had learned the basics of how they work. He is currently courting Elizabeth, so he decides on the spot to try to hire one to come to Hope Valley. His parents help him locate one and they arrange with Lucas to surprise Elizabeth and her students with a live demonstration of what she has been teaching them in science class. Once up in the air they hug, kiss, and dream about their future together, while enjoying the beautiful view of their beloved hometown below.

Always “full of surprises,” Lucas may have surprised Elizabeth and her students with the hydrogen balloon to compliment a science lesson Elizabeth was teaching, as well as to create an unexpected romantic adventure for he and Elizabeth to enjoy. I think many of us have already guessed that this balloon ride is also likely a metaphor for some major themes we’ll see repeated throughout Season 9. In Season 8, two major themes were, “love is worth fighting for” and “people can change.” The balloon in Season 9 suggests the ideas of choosing to trust, to overcome fear, to take worthwhile risks, and to courageously embrace change. Such choices can free us from the sometimes harmful restrictions of our comfort zones, as they help us gain a “higher” perspective. My guess is that these timely themes will be played out in the lives of several Hope Valley characters in Season 9. Can’t wait to go on this journey with them!

1) I feel like the balloon is there for some sort of town celebration, perhaps related to the election. (It seems too early for Founders Day). I do think Lucas brought it to town and am interested in hearing his connection to the balloon operator given that the guy was just willing to pass the reins of the balloon over to him. Did they know each other? What gave him confidence that Lucas could pilot this thing? 2) Based upon the ET article, they are talking about their future beyond courtship, so my *guess* is he's clearing the decks somewhat to begin integrating himself into Elizabeth's world and bonding with little Jack. They may have even talked about how if they marry, he'd have an instant family which wouldn't be easy. Taking that step is what Lucas has never been more sure over - at least as I'm imagining it. We'll see how close we get starting March 6th at 8PM/7C.

I think maybe Lucas had the Hot Air Balloon brought there for the children to look at and maybe at least get in. Maybe it was part of a science lesson. I really want to know more about Lucas’s past life. First we learn he can do magic tricks, and now he knows how to operate a Hot Air Balloon.

It's probably a Founders Day Surprise that Lucas cooked up with Rosemary/Lee, I'm sure Lucas/Elizabeth are talking about learning to let go & experience the beauty of HV from a different view, adventure doesn't always mean far away especially with someone you love, and I'm sure there will kissing or at least some canoodling times 10 !!!

I think Lucas is telling Elizabeth that he’s want to be watch Little Jack while she’s at school and also to be a father figure to him.

I rewatched the seen Lucus says they have taken care of everything so I believe he Lucus did it for Elizabeth with an extra treat for the children. Also I think they are having a conversation maybe about their future. Just my thoughts
