joking aside, this is truly a thing. Lot of vegans feel some pride that they don't eat meat. Our upstairs neighbors are vegans and that was the first think they told us after we invited them over...mind you, we never server any kind of meat when we are with new people because you don't know and we want to keep it respectful, but they did find a way to tell us they are vegan. Now I know they are doing a dry January and February...no one asked them they jut told me after me taking out my flask to take sip while working on the bike...like it was some accomplishment...I don't give a 2 fucks what they do.

Vegetarians and vegans are in the minority so you're likely gonna piss more people off by not serving meat, as a meat eater myself I know I would be disappointed if I turned up for a dinner somewhere and all that was served was vegetables or beans. As the saying goes, you can please some people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time, so when it comes to food, please yourself especially when you're hosting.

We don't really have a 'national' beauty pageant in Ireland. We have the Rose of Tralee contest which has entrants from each county and then lots of international entrants (usually they have Irish heritage like a great grandfather who emigrated to Australia, Canada, Brazil etc). A few years back the winner was an Irish woman whose dad is from Zambia. There was no rioting in the streets, nor mass panic. We don't really care that much about beauty pageants. We don't care much that the current prime minister, Leo Varadkar, has a dad who is from India. Varadkar also happens to be gay, but people mostly criticise him because of the policies of his party, just like they criticised the prime minister before him. Japan is a much less integrated society though. 98.5% of the population is considered 'ethnically' Japanese (the indigenous people in the far north, the _Ainu_ look different from the folks in the far south, but due to forced assimilation, only about 25,000 of them remain.) I've spent time in Japan and they really do subscribe to the notion of some sort of ideal racial icon. As a white guy over 6ft tall, I definitely didn't fit in.

Denmark abolished slavery in 1792 (made it illegal to buy, I am pretty sure already bought slaves weren't emancipated or set free). This was 60 years prior to America. It was first in 1847 (18 years prior to America) Denmark announced they would phase out slaves over a 12 year period (still 6 years prior to America). How did the interviewer get the answers wrong to his own question but still tried to make people feel stupid Disclaimer: I learned this in history 5 years ago with a quick google search to back up my claims but they could still be wrong. Denmark banned import of slaves to its West Indies colonies, although the law only took effect from 1803. Spain technically banned slavery first in 1811 but Cuba rejected the ban and continued to deal in slaves.

in 1794 during Kosciuszko uprising Poland and Lithuania Commonwealth abolished serfdom as there were no slaves in PLC, but serfs had limited rights. In 1807 serfdom abolishion is put into PLC Constitution (so i guess Poles would be second :P )

I'm from Denmark and you're correct. Denmark WAS the first country to officially abolish slavery... you're missing the point of the interview entirely though and hair-splitting because of a few years. Why? The POINT (!) of the interview was to showcase that a black person who lives in a country that was one of the first (!) to abolish slavery and is currently one of the freest countries in the World (apart from the wokeNAZI's taking over) has absolutely no fucking idea about what he's talking about.

Kenya is not based, and it saddens me that Arako included comments from those bigots that portrayed them as such. The LGBTQ community is out of control in the West, but they still deserve basic human rights. In Kenya, sodomy is a FELONY! The answer to insane opinions isn't equally insane opinions on the opposite end of the spectrum. The answer to the epidemic of hoes isn't Gyliad. The answer to the idiocy of the transgender movement isn't reversion to 1950's mentality. The answer to constant race-baiting and forced quotas isn't segregation or slavery. This is the problem with politics in the US: both parties keep moving to polar extremes instead of towards a sane middle ground, and this idiotic us vs them mentality is spreading to the rest of the world.

The fact that some of these people confuse gender and sexual orientation is really telling. CIS, a word I despise, is not rooted in gender, but in sexual orientation, just like hetero or BI. The reason we have hard definitions is because each individual will have their own idea of identity. This range of ideas/identity makes it nearly impossible to properly define anything related to gender which is why we rely on biology to have proper definitions. It's extremely difficult to have conversations on ideas which we can't properly define because everyone will have their preconceived notions. Realistically, most people's definition of gender identity is tied to identity (how they view themselves, how they feel, or would like to view or feel) instead of how they interact with other individuals and potential mates. This is also why such conversations can be so volatile. They feel that it is their identity, their world view, who they are that is being challenged rather than the definitions that they live by. Without a language of compromise, we'll never have the word for peace.

@tobytaylor2154 that judgment happened around the 1800s. I can't recall the exact date. And yes it did have an effect on slavery in England. He wanted more tax revenue. People didn't really have slave's in England after the tax (wasn't instant). They still sold and participated in the trade. It wasn't until much later the abolition movement kicked off.

I believe you technically can feed a dog a vegan diet, but you 100% need to consult your vet and spend a lot of time/money on the products required to ensure they live healthy. Meanwhile the dog just flat out suffers psychologically with the craptastic food. Whatever. There's like 10% of vegans that visit their doctors, and do it for legit health reasons. And then there's 90% of vegans that are just doing it for attention or to be part of some 'cause'. Oh btw vegans... a vegan only lifestyle still damages the Earth. Deforestation is a glaring problem to grow all the crops for plant based food, and the factories that produce it dump harmful after products to create it... you're still harming animals either way. The only way to make an impact is to stop overpopulating the Earth...
