@jhngamingetc seconding this. unfortunately the cops are often the first people to interact with someone in a mental crisis, and they arent trained well enough in deescalation tactics that specifically are for mentally ill persons. plus there is a wide stereotype that mentally ill persons are dangerous, so cops are much more likely to feel like they have to use force

LEOs are trained to handle mental illness when dealing with law enforcement because it DOES factor in, but it DOES NOT equal a free pass - the charges may be less severe but there are still charges because laws were broken. agreed that it's messed up but no one is above the law

As a resident of Texas I can confirm We have license plates and registration and we have to renew every year with an inspection. Everything that male Karen says is wrong. To register in Texas every year runs me about 80ish bucks. Here he probably will have to pay triple
