Hahaa this was too good. At one point an Asian friend of mine tried to pull me into his healthcare ‘pyramid scheme’, selling shady healthcare plans. Dude was killing it cuz his sister was already way up in the company.. but I couldn’t sell my soul. So accurate on how they pull someone up as a testimony to talk about how they’ve made $100,000 in the last month or whatever. I still remember they kept saying “you gotta have a burning desire!!”. Was a little sketch

I ain't gone lie, this shit hit hard cause I was in amway when I got into college in a new city. I really thought I was doing something. I just wanted to believe in something big because I was all on my own and didn't have a support system, no loving family. Met some cool people there but I talk to none of them now and none of them cared to keep in contact when I got out the "business." The point of entrepreneurship and financial freedom is to live a life where you don't have to listen to people and to have a life that allows tremendous flexibility with your location and time. These Network marketing/ MLM companies talk the talk, have conferences with thousands of people all over the world. But you will only get to the top selling people on the idea that they're doing more than just recruiting people. It's nothing more than a referral program on steroids. It's not a business.

Honestly just natural selection. Same thing with a majority of those who fell for NFT scams. I can relate because I fell for a discord trading server scammer when I also was in a vulnerable position. I learned my lesson. You learned a good lesson now to be skeptical of money making schemes going forward, and not buy in to any group that gives promises that sounds really good. A majority of the time it is a scam. They want something from you, whether it's your time and money, and you'll get barely anything in return. At the end of the day though, only desperate or gullible people fall for these type of schemes, so it is sad, but it's just what will happen. Like you said you had no support system or loving family or guidance. If you didn't fall for that scam you might've fell for a different one. Either way you learned your lesson and grew from it. In this world, especially America, the stronger and mentally smarter will consume the weak. The heartless will try to take over the vulnerable. The disciplined surpasses the lazy at the finish line usually. Kindness and community matters less in America than other countries, Individuality and competition is more American culture.

@@bobabola I get what you're tryna say but how is that just natural selection. You acknowledged that he fell for it due to the lack of a support system, that's not natural selection. That's as nurture as it gets in the nature vs nurture debate. But I agree with you, for whatever reason, from our experiences or our natural tendencies, those that are vulnerable will be preyed upon.

Y’all ever heard of PHP? I almost went into that. It literally looked like that pyramid. Most of the time we were going to meetings all the way to LA. And I paid 100 for a training course but never even did it and basically we had to talk to people and try to get them to get life insurance plans. Just random people on the street. They went up to me at my job. And all I ever did was waste money to go to LA with them. They were too extroverted for me though and they all texted the GC every 15 minutes. They told me I needed to go to Vegas with them for a convention for further training and I had to pay like 100 and I said “no, I am literally not allowed by strict mom” and I was running out of money by then, I also had a FT job with no paid vacation. Hard pass and he still said I had to put down 30 just in case I changed my mind or something. I was hesitant but he seemed like an honest guy that wouldn’t steal. Never saw that money again. And fuck the group chat. That was my last straw 😂

I remember 2017 me and the boys just finished high school and after high school u have several months off until University starts one of my best friends came to me and was like " yo bro you wanna earn money ? I have this thing going.. " etc. Ofc i believed him and went straight into a network marketing scheme and guys i don't lie when i say next week i literally saw half my old classmates and even some of my seniors from high school all were signed up 😂 needless to say we all quit soon after and lost 200 bucks as sign up fee. Im glad i could make this experience this early in my life at least (19, am 25 now) and not in my mid twenties or something
