The reason why the drones weight restriction wasn't on the bulletin was by design. That way they can just present it as rules and regulations for every drone.

As you say, this type of drone is classed as a toy. Therefore, no insurance is required. However, every drone user I have seen on KZfaq using this type of drone, has insurance, just in case - which is the whole point of insurance, n'est-ce pas? I don't think that the know you can tether a larger drone so its on a line. This changes the legislation on the larger drone so its quite possible to fly a larger drone outside its normal legislation 😊 and you are only required to have insurance if you are making money from the drone.

It is irrelevant whether or not the officers know the legislation on flying a drone, this video should be used in Police training as to how the police should engage with the public.

Even if they knew the basics they would still come and ask what you are doing. This is born out by interactions of most police officers many who have intimate knowledge of drones.

So the moral of the story is.........if you have been burgled don't phone the police just fly a drone above your neighbours house and they will respond immediately !

Surely the first thing the auditor should ask is, do you know the law about drones? if the answer is no then, ask them to go away and find that out, before you assume that I am breaking the law, as it is an offence to disturb a pilot while flying, I know that I am within the law flying.

Stay quiet, make them make a mistake then make a claim it’s the only way they will learn to get to know their shit. If they want to attempt to criminalise lawful behaviour then let them trap themselves and it will result in police learning to get it right
