The video is 5 years old. And KH Transient Shaper is still the best one. Their flanger is smooth as silk. I wish they redesigned the reverb though. The limiter is outstanding.

How can you in all sincerity say this is better than SPL

i think we all appreciate your positive emotions towards this plugins and your demonstration of the parameters. but unfortunately you said a lot of things that were wrong so i hope you're not mad when i correct you here for the ones who read the comments: a transient shaper is not a fancy compressor. a compressor uses an envelope follower to determine the gain reduction curve. the envelope follower is directly related to the shape of the wave that is being sent through. a transient shaper however uses an envelope generator. when a transient has been detected a pre-made envelope shape is just being played back and used as the gain modulator for the effect. that's why transient shapers often seem a bit more chaotic on natural material than compressors btw. turning the attack of a transient shaper down is not sidechaining. sidechaining means there are more inputs going into the plugin than outputs, so that the additional inputs can be used to be modulated with the main inputs. there is no sidechaining in this effect at all. pump does not just decrease the volume. it only does so right after the transient and then it goes back up again into the sustain state, as you can also see on this visualization. you'd still need the additional gain control to compensate for the loudest peak going above 0 if your input signal already peaked.

yea the kilohearts transient shaper is my go to. i also had high hopes for the Native Instruments transient shaper and I was very dissapointed with it. i ended up uninstalling it and deleting it. i recently got the transient shaper made by the company that makes SOOTHE 2. its more complex but it really looks promising for highly accurate transient shaping, it lets you dial in speciffic frequencies and im pretty sure it has the option to use multiple bands as well across the freq. spectrum. ive been busy so i havent read the manual yet but will soon.

Can you route out different channels of the multiband transient shaper to Ableton so for example you can put a chorus on the attack and distortion on the transient?

i do the same with TransX Multi to get the punch. quite more range then this plug.Did you try it?

E2 Trainsienter trumps all.. by some miles image-line licensed the transient shaper by shaack audio .. its been around for 10yrs

why not shaping the synth sound with its Envelope (e.g. ADSR), instead of using a transient designer?
