You could call the campus the Geological Institute of Technical Studies, or G.I.T.S for short. Then any ex-alumni would become Old GITS 😂😂

Or name it after William Smellie (Scottish geologist) and have the Smellie Geological Institute of Techincal Studies; and then alumni would be Smellie GITS or Smellie Old GITS for those that have graduated.

i do love the assets in CS2, they're just so, soooo nice but it is really unfortunate that we can't do a lot of the detailing ourselves with some of those buildings. the parks and things they come with are nice but it's just so much more fun to do that kind of thing on your own and makes things so much more unique. such a shame. but amazing build as always! really love how it looks in winter too :)

I agree, it especially bugs me that the buildings themselves are averagely sized but they come with massive parks and parking lots. I'm recreating an irl city where the university building (one of the most important buildings in the city) is just the building with a couple parking spots behind it and roads on 3 sides right next to it, so I can't use the current Uni or even College assets in the game, even though the buildings themselves in those assets would fit in my area.

A couple of footbridges crossing the railway in Invernegg, connecting either end of the new campus to the downtown area. There are already road junctions at the relevant locations in the town and given the height elevation of the campus the path only needs to rise up on the town side.

Ooo... that freight train crossing looked just like one heading out over the Tay Bridge from Dundee the other day (apart from the engines of course). Sweet expansion of Invernegg. As mentioned in a reply to @LazarusDangerfield below (or above): named after the mildly famous Scottish geologist William Smellie... the Smellie Geological Institute of Technical Studies, making the alumni Smellie GITS (or Smellie Old GITS for graduates). Other uni's sports teams would undoubtedly refer to the institute's teams as Smelly B..... well, you get the drift.

Love the improvements for the city. As for names: Benedictus Egganti Geode Institute of Technology (B.E.G.i.T.). Mr. Ben Egganti could the founder / investor in the Tech Campus. We the slogan - We BeGiT the ore for your production and repurpose of Egginburgh -- (as you prepare to exams!). Just want to provide a bit of story for the name. Hope you don't mind. I do enjoy all you videos. Keep up the great work.

Maybe you can name the geological institute the James Hutton Geological Institute. He is considered the father of modern geology and is from Egginburgh, Scotland.

How about ‘Thunderegg Institute’ for the name of the campus, it’s a type of rock so suits the geology and also has egg in it! Great video as always 😊 long time watcher but first time commenting.

This whole build puts me in mind of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, USA. Golden is right in among the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, so you get some really striking sight lines down some of the roads to nearby points of geological interest. They do also have an American football field - two, in fact - as well as a football pitch and a baseball field. Also abundant parking. One fun detail is they've got a giant white 'M' up on a nearby hillside, I believe in some kind of white rock. CS2 doesn't have rock props yet, I don't think, but maybe something in bushes could be fun.

Nice build! For high rent warnings, check your unemployment, especially by district (jobs:adult population) if your adult population exceed your available jobs then you need more offices/commercial in that district as the sims won't work far away as readily as near by, like in real life. Highly educated work at the high density offices/commercial at a higher proportion. As med/high density resistances level up so do the number of families in each building. That means your population will grow faster than number of available jobs. Adjusting taxes lower will make the problem worse as it will attract more sims from outside the city. Hope that made sense, cheers!

The bus line doesn't connect on the left turn cause the line of the road is only alowed to go ahead and not left. If you download a mod called C2VM Traffic Lights Enhancements by slyh, you can fix that and a lot more.

I wouldn't bother much with the "High Rent" issues. It seems it's still a bug where sims who can't afford to live in a place move in anyways (like students, elderly, and/or single parents), and until they fix that issue it will never go away. You could say it's because there isn't enough high density, but I have had multiple and simultaneous High Rent and High Density Abandonment issues at the same time. So it is a bug still.

I see so many CS2 youtubers just place roads and buildings and zones straight over trees. Does this mean there is no tree memory in CS2? Because i play CS on console and i have to remove trees otherwise i will have issues later on building with placing new trees etc

Correct, the old tree limits no longer apply to cs2. Those limit caps from cs1 are not present in CS2, the limits are "whatever your machine will handle". I'm sure you'd save some performance my removing them first but no need to fear a tree limit anymore
