I.O.I had great potential and all of the opportunity in the world to become like Twice, however, that was all taken away after a year of them being together. I.O.I right now would have had 5 comebacks in total (not including their debut); 3 comebacks as an entire group and 2 as a 7 member subunit (Whatta Man era: Nayoung, Pinky, Doyeon, Yoojung, Somi, Chungha and Sohye) by last December. YMC Entertainment is to blame here, I mean I.O.I would still be together as a group and be performing alongside their peers, like Red Velvet, Twice, Oh My Girl and Dreamcatcher. Another girl group wasted on with bad promotional work, all thanks to a condition that the show Produce 101 created, which is a ONE YEAR contract to promote a girl group as a project girl group. To many who grew to love the girls and the group as a whole saw them as a girl group that could make it through many years together. I know that some of the former members have found fame either on their own or with another girl group (Doyeon and Yoojung with Weki Meki, Lim Nayoung and Pinky with Prestin and Chung Ha as a solo artist), but still I.O.I had great potential. I agree with Neko Mao's comment below about how it's really unfair that a boy group like Wanna One has a contract option of an extension, however I.O.I is deprived of that option. I saw many thumbnails of videos that showcase KPop groups that have disbanded where most of those thumbnails show a crying Somi, who is sobbing over the fact that her group, I.O.I is coming to an end. I.O.I should be given a proper comeback reunion, where the girls of I.O.I is allowed record and promote a comeback reunion album, but the likelihood of that is very slim. I know for sure that all members of I.O.I have moved on from that group and aren't available to reunite. Reasons for that is, Pinky is busy in China judging a show similar to Produce I.O.I, Chung Ha is busy promoting as a solo artist, Doyeon and Yoojung is busy promoting with Weki Meki, Sejeong and Chaeyeon are busy with their respective and currently active girl groups, Lim Nayoung is busy being a leader for her group Prestin, Sohye is busy MCing a video game-based variety show with Super Junior's Heechul and Yeonjung is busy with WJSN/ Cosmic Girls.
