Remember this fact when changing the FP on a S55. No matter how low your fuel tank is prior to the install, the system is under pressure by design, so have a bucket ready because the pump will be sitting in a pool of gas when you pull it out

If you upgrade your HPFP first you reduce the Duty required on the lpfp... so that should be first upgrade.. then when you loose low pressure you upgrade that.

Sorry guys, you need an aftermarket EKP if you go stage 2.5. It crashes constantly after 5-10 minutes. PR and Fuel-It states that this isn't the case, however, everyone's results may vary. Had to order one from Evolution of Speed (BPM4) and no more issues. plug and play. Otherwise you are taking a change with your OEM, can replace and it may or may not overheat too.

As others have mentioned, there are dozens of issues related to upgrading the LPFP on the f30 platform due to overheating. Im running PS2 and xdi-35 HPFP on my 435i with no issues from the stock LPFP. Its simply not needed especially with the concern of overheating if you do upgrade the LPFP.

2015 328i owner here. Drivetrain Malfunction error and Low Pressure Fuel Pump needs to be changed. The car is at 72,000 miles. I guess it is a common problem with F30's and you may need a new low pressure fuel pump anyway whether you need it for a upgrade or not

Are you also running the upgraded BMP4 LPFP control module? I’ve heard that the upgraded LPFP’s require more amperage, thus using more output from the fuel pump control module causing it to overheat and shut the car off. Way to avoid it is by using the Upgraded module

Seen any issues with your EKPM module? Lots of reports of those burning up with additional current draw from a LPFP upgrade. Also, I have seen tons of datalogs now with no LPFP issues on 500hp plus cars. LPFP always steady, although the HPFP drops pressure. You must be running way more than 500 HP in this car?

I’ve read that you really don’t need a lpfp upgrade but it’s your hpfp you wanna upgrade, the stock lpfp can handle mixed up to e40 I’ve seen! But yes, it’s when upgrading the turbo that u will prob need a lpfp on the n55

What is your comment on a 2016 750ix with only 28k miles on it needing fuel pump replacement. At these low miles, it is surprising. Thought to get your opinion.

Okay I need some mechanical advice y'all. I upgraded my fuel injectors, to the Bosch EU6 injectors. I got a f30 328i. But I noticed a lag in power up top. So do I upgrade the low pressure? Or the high pressure fuel pump? Or both?

Did you upgrade your EKPM3 LPFP control module? because I had to upgrade to the BPM4 by EOSPEED, due to my Stock/factory EKPM3 over heats and shut the car down because of my upgraded LPFP.

Did you have to re-tune after changing from a factory > aftermarket LPFP? I would think not since the focus is within the injectors and HPFP but wondering what's going to happen once I slap in my Precision Stage 3 kit into my M4.

so if i'm at 450 whp... am i gunna eventually see degraded performance from my stock fuel system? you mention the stock system can do 400-450 whp and also that "you dont want to max it out" so I'm sort of inferring here. it seems to handle it fine now, but now youve got me wondering if that will change eventually (i'm done with power mods)

Why does he only talk about the "F" series when the "E" platform is so very similar? In particular the E9X platform (Turbos ya know LOL). They could be including a whole huge segment of the BMW tuning world which is made up of so many series. I have both a E90 and an E46 M3 and I can understand why the E46 wouldn't be included but not the 135i's and 335i's of the "E" world. 2Cents.
