I tired to water my lawn, 2 days a week, I figured out how long it took to get the correct volume, but our summers are too hot zone 9A, summers temp 95 to 115, cools down to maybe 70 degrees around 2 AM, it did not work too much stress on my lawn with death, so I bumped it up to 3 times a week, I have Tall Fescue with relative humidity around 30%.

Im in phoenix. 100 very hot & dry. I put down Bermuda grass in march. What are the appropriate times to set off sprinklers??

I would do it an hour our two before the sun comes up so the ground (and roots) have time to absorb it. Just be sure not to do it in the evening time when the sun goes down or you could run the risk of diseases. Hope this helps!!

Ever heard of massive lawn burnings when it rained during the day and then the sun came out? There is no magnifying effect.

Fun fact it actually can cause turf damage to water mid day in certain conditions…but at the very least it’s a waste of water because it evaporates faster than the roots can absorb it.

@@DaisyDukesLandscaping actually to syringe water the blades… cooling the turf off versus trying to water the roots is a known effective practice. I run my zones when it’s above 90 degrees for 3-4 minutes to give the grass relief. This practice is known to work.
