When I went to the UK, I had a bit of a hard time to explain the pronunciation of my name. Even though, like you said, there is a rule for 'gui', the natives I've talked to were trying to pronounce it almost like a 'wi'. Guitar is a good example, I remember saying "it's Gui like Guilty" 🤣

Probably because they knew it wasn't an English name and tried their best to pronounce it in a 'non-English' sort of way. Just say it's like 'ghee' (the butter!). Or... even cooler... you could switch your name to the English equivalent 'William' and have an alternate personality! :D haha

Hello Emma, I'm trying to teach inversion to someone. However, I'm not sure of an answer to one question they have. Why do you use "do" with inversion? When do you know when to use "do" with inversion? And how do know when to use "do" with inversions statements.

What I think the U does is that it separates the G and the E so the G can make a Ge😃 sound instead of a Je😚 sound.

pls teacher i am suffering from this problem : how do we pronounce these words . articulate ( ɑːˈtɪkjʊleit ) , particular ( kjʊ ) , formulate (kjʊ) , regular (kjʊ) and many other do we pronounce this ( kjʊ ) as ku , ki or kyoo .
