"clicking on random things to progress the plot" as one of policenaut's con is pretty amusing for me when the AA games have trained me to brace for that (or have a handy dandy guide when i'm frustrated). it seems like balancing between giving player autonomy and hand holding them in visual novel/point and click/adventure type games is an issue that has gone far back even in the 90s and i feel like there's no correct solution to it even in this current era of games of that nature

That puzzle you said soft locks but had information in the manual sounds like intentional anti piracy design. Like there was something similar with MGS and Meryl’s codec number.

Tbf in Japan at least it would have been relatively easy to look up those family crests in an encyclopedia even pre-internet.

I'm sorry but this video is so bad. The entire thing is just a recap of the events of the game with very VERY minimal commentary over the events. You have damn near nothing to say about anything besides little comments. Also the part about the crests is just wrong. You say you need to memorize the seals at the hojo residence but it's an incomplete scroll, you can ONLY get the seals from the game manual, it was a form of copy protection back in the day. Your refusal to do the bare minimum research is honestly baffling for a video you expect me to watch for half the runtime of a feature film. Honestly pathetic.
