I have a request….. if you are up for it….Come together. Gary does that song as well and I like his style. You are great at playing and slow enough for us new people to figure it out!!! Keep the lessons coming. You will blow up on Utube because you are awesome at teaching!!!! You will be bringing in a huge paycheck!!!
@MissCarolJWatson Жыл бұрын
Thank you for doing it slower and repeating it. I’ve played music my whole life but never a guitar. I can play in the key of G from watching my dad play his guitar while I was playing the piano. Lol. I love Gary Clark!!! He is a bad ass on a guitar!!! And a great singer as well!! I love playing the blues. I always have. My parents said I came out of the womb with a beat !!! Music has got me through a lot of horrible things. Music and the ocean calm me. I can get the music but I’m not even close to the ocean. Lol

Great lesson. I appreciate you showing the cord shapes and tricks along with the main riff, which I love.

Others I've seen just go to the Am & Bm and leave it at that. Yours is much more authentic. Nice job - appreciate the breakdown.

What kind of overdrive pedal and amp? Thanks for vid. Do some of the solo bro
@acwilliamsamateurhourguita63003 жыл бұрын
Not sure what rig Gary uses, but for this video I was running a Fulltone Full-drive 2 Mosfet overdrive pedal through my Orange CR60C 60w amp. My favorite overdrive pedal is the Fulltone OCD V2, but they both have a great sound.

Nice! You were getting a really nice sound outta that Epi and that's what I'm playing so I was curious. Thanks again from Kingston,Ontario Canada.👊🎩🎸

I liked Gary Clark jr. at first but the thing is he is married and he sings about failed relationships which does not add up. I guess he has to play the "blues guy" but it's...fake. Nice tone though.
@acwilliamsamateurhourguita63003 жыл бұрын
I understand. All I can say is maybe those songs are from his past relationships. When you write a song it never dies to you.
@manwebi3 жыл бұрын
To me the blues resonate regardless of where you are in life, whether you’re in a good place or relationship, because everyone has a low point, everyone has gone through something to get where they are, or maybe still going through it to get to that better place. It’s music about struggle and the human condition. And ultimately this song is about hope.
@acwilliamsamateurhourguita63003 жыл бұрын
Nailed it! I think it was Muddy Waters who said something along the lines of how blues is a music that's all about struggle and being down, but when you listen to it, you can't help but be happy.
@manwebi3 жыл бұрын
@@acwilliamsamateurhourguita6300 You could say the same about reggae, but of course blues is one of the roots there too!
@cerealkiller56882 жыл бұрын
Cloud Strife... I read Bruce Springsteens book a couple years ago and was very surprised to find out that almost every song he wrote was about someone else. I grew up thinking that a s a teen Springsteen was a NJ street racer ("racing in the street" Darkness on the edge of town) only to find out that he didn't even have drivers license until he was in his late 20's. These guys create but don't necessarily represent what they are creating.
