I'm so glad I saw Bowie live. I was right at the front on his 1990 greatest hits tour. It was one of the best gigs of my life.

Sound&Vision was a great tour - I caught the show in Detroit or rather Auburn hills @ the palace of. It’s closed now , however the show was beyond brilliant with scrims of various sizes , which for the time , had never been seen before, as always DB light years ahead of the pack. And no he didn’t retire his old catalog as he said - but he was the PT Barnum of the rock world. One thing , he was not everyone’s cup of tea , however he never bored anyone. His shows were always different and cutting edge. Glad I saw him from Diamond dogs tour of 74 to his final tour “ reality “ 2003 prior to his heart issues :/ RIP 🪦 DB , never to be forgotten!

@@supersonicbird11 - I was only 5/6 years old in 74 but I'm sure it was an incredible tour. I was 21 in 1990 and backpacking around Europe and saw him in Budapest. It was standing in the main area so we arrived hours early and just waited at the main gate and so we were up at the barrier in front of the stage. And it was right in front of the stage as they didn't understand that you need a gap or people get crushed, which they did. A few females passed out and had to be dragged right up onto the stage. They were not used to this sort of concert yet. Bowie was a unique individual and went through so many "changes" (pun intended) that I don't understand people who say they don't like him. I'm British and I think he is perhaps more beloved in the UK. Very few British music lovers don't think highly of Bowie as a writer, performer and trend-setting artist in general. He inspired generations of British musicians, fashion designers and creatives of all kinds. He's definitely at rock-God and almost guru status in the UK. I think he is fcking amazing. I still play his music more than anyone else. Although I've been a bit Leonard Cohen obsessed recently.

@@vivalajustin Buddy, even McCartney found it difficult being up there with Lennon. There is nobody around anywhere that could be up there with with Lennon. Nobody. But you keep dreaming your not the only one. I hope some day you will join the real world and realise this.👍

Well when you are ready to come back down to planet Earth you will realise people like Lennon and Bowie are the very best of all time. If you can't see that, there is really no educating you on music. @@rfurdaylee

@@vivalajustin I'm 68 mate I wuz listening to music before you were born. Been a Beatles fan since 1963. I've listened to Bowie's music. It's fine. But even he would tell you Lennon is up there above him. Even McCartney's ability in song writing dipped once Lennon was out of the Lennon and McCartney fold. Plus there is no song anywhere in Lennon's catalogue that has aged badly over the year's ( I can't say that about McCartney's songs) No mate, sorry. Lennon is the Ronnie O'Sullivan of Song writing. There is John Lennon. And then there is everybody else. I firmly believe Bowie would agree with me.
