For real. Here in Australia they don't even show up many times and get annoyed when you call them. There was a restaurant in the heart of Melbourne that had thugs smashing windows and threatening owners who were barricaded inside. Cops told them to hide and call them back later if they're still there. My apartment is in the same area and some dude was caught on camera trying to break in. Cops didn't want to even file a report or look at the security footage. They rarely show up for active home invasion calls either. Welfare or missing person reports barely get attention unless it's a big media case. But get caught speeding, protesting, reporting about corrupt politicians as a journalist or defending yourself against a violent attack with a weapon and half a dozen squad cars will show up within minutes here. All our police just got a massive pay rise too recently ironically enough and are widely hated these days. The two cops in these video that actually cared are a rare breed in many countries.

That guy didn't give a wet fart about that lady and her kid. He "knew" he was going to find something in the car as soon as he pulled them over, and their argument about an illegal search was somehow additional proof that they were guilty. He then went to trying to get them to admit on camera that they were guilty. There was nothing friendly about it - he was trying to elicit a confession. He also likely didn't have probable cause to be searching their bags in the trunk. He claimed that there was an odor of marijuana in the cab - the mom had a medical card, which explains that entirely (and they had no evidence that she had used it in a state where it wasn't legal). Searching the trunk based on a supposed odor of marijuana in the cab makes no sense. I'm not pro-drug runner, but I am anti-bad cop.

In some cases, the evidence found can be thrown out if it is obtained illegally. A lawyer could contest the evidence found if there were any mistakes made during the search.

His one mistake was not waiting for backup before he started to search the vehicle. If the mom or son had a concealed weapon, or they were being followed by their bosses, then this would be a video about police ambush not a drug bust.

Nah his DNA is in the car. He was fucked the moment he took the vehicle for a ride. Mikes missing person case would've been filed and once they found the car the evidence on the car would be damning. Especially since the body was in the car.

What he shoulda done was leave the body without touching it as well as the car. But they still would find small things footprints and fingerprints of things he touched which would've placed him in the crime scene.

I’ve known a guy in college caught with over a kilo of weed and baggies and scales and whatnot. He would have caught a felony. But he rolled on his supplier and they gave him probation of community service and had to maintain a certain GPA. The guy said it was the best thing that happened to him. He got his life on track. That’s not the usual outcome but it can happen. My buddy also had a good lawyer which definitely helps.

I am not surprised. If it had been Washington State they'd have let him drive away even if the car had also been reported stolen. They don't try to stop or detain drivers of stolen cars here. Here the bullet holes might be seen as not that unusual either, I have 2 on my own minivan that got shot up while sitting parked in Tacoma and I'm a middle aged soccer mom. Only thing that would've bit him in the butt here (maybe) is not having a driver's license.

I've been pulled over numerous times on rt 10 along the border in Texas not doing a gd thing- Just being there is excuse enough.

You could hear the disappointment in his sigh while he was on the phone with his supervisor. Even if they didn't have anything to arrest him for at that point, you'd think he'd be able to call the mother and get permission to search the vehicle since her son was missing and his car has freaking bullet holes in it. Or at least be able to get a warrant to search the car since the owner is missing, the car is all shot up and an unlicensed driver, who lied about their address, was in possession of the vehicle. Isn't driving without a license, an hour after smoking up, an arrestable offense? Sounds like the supervisor doesn't care about the victim and wanted to take the path of the least amount of paperwork. Yeah, just let the driver go and put another unsolved case on the books 🤦‍♀️

I used to listen to local police radio for fun, and the number of traffic stops that turned out to be people with suspended licenses or who were wanted was incredible. They couldn’t help but drive in a way that made police pull them over, despite the risk.

That would be a nightmare. I work in Washington on a farm. Part of the farm im working on right now specifically for a total of 2 months is the weed. I reek like weed. Not a single cubed milimeter of my body isnt coated with weed dust. My boots and clothes drag weed in my car. My phone and watch are plastered in weed. All my clothes and stuff in my car are coated with weed oil. Ive never been stopped and i dread the day i will.

Here in Australia we had 5 calls to police of a baby badly crying in adjoined flats (apartments). ALL THE COPS left after ONLY knocking. The 6th cop finally got the door open. Young mother had died of a drug overdose, son was badly dehydrated. People asked how SO MANY welfare checks were done SO carelessly. Kid was about to die of thirst

Also so crazy they would transport all that for only 20k... the fentanyl alone is worth millions (very very conservative estimate is $10 a pill, we're still talking wholesale here). That's a huge risk with potentially life-changing consequences, but its nowhere near a life-changing amount of money...

@@SVD_NL Agreed but then you've got to wonder if it's as simple as that. In these kinds of situations if somebody fcuks up, their family often has to make it right. I can easily envision a situation where, say, Sena's father or brother was dealing on the street for the local boss, who fronted them a KG to sell, expecting 20k cash to come back the next day. That hypothetical family member got busted or robbed, so now they owe the boss 20k. The boss approaches Sena and his mom saying "your family member owes us 20k. Either pay us the 20k plus 1k interest for every day it's late, or you can drive this car from A to B for me, we'll let your brother/father go and we'll call it quits. If you don't pay us the money by whatever means, all three of you pay the ultimate price" Put it this way, in all the times you've seen highway patrol busts on TV, how often is it a scared-looking teenager and his mom who looks mortified by the whole thing? I'm pretty certain that they would have been doing this under duress, not for profit. Like you say, 20k is minimal financial recompense for the risk level of transporting that value of merchandise.
