It feels weirdly esoteric. I thank the Tic Tac UFo incident, its made Joe go back on the right track. I was getting tired of all those unknown comedian interviews he likes to partake that seem as they should just be 5 to 10 minute videos instead of an hour of googling stuff while high. IMO Although he still does that sometimes its not Bert Krisher, Tom Segura amd Bredan Schaub or the Nth time. The last example of comediam interview which no one was hot for was Akash Singh, but I guess since he is Andrew Schultz' boy thats why he didnit to help boost Singh's career as a token of apreciation to Schultz. I miss Cristina P on the pod and Josh Potter is overdo to appear. I do like when he brings really funny comedians like Shane Gillis and Mark Normand.

@@j2ll1 Well you are right that Joey Diaz is one of the actually funny comedians he has on the show, no discussion there. However Joey is one exception out of dozens of not so amusing comedians Joe invites to his show. Among my favorites Joey Diaz, Cristina P, Nicky Glazer, Bobby Lee, Andrew Santino (its hit or miss on this one, although his podcast with Bobby Lee is incredibaly funny), Dave Chapelle, Mark Normand, Theo Von, Shane Gillis, Andrew Shultz (I like to see his interactions with Joe via clips for the most part)... Maybe Im missing some but they would very few. The other 80% I and most of the viewer (according to commentary) really dont find that amusing. For example Donelle Rowlings is great when giving old Chapelle Show war stories but the rest of the interview is really hard to follow and/or keep intrested in IMHO. Cheers!

Howard experienced what most good natured people experienced. He was willing to go to bat for someone he considered good because it made him feel good, because he felt like he was establishing a relationship, etc. He was probably a guy who valued help, remembered if someone went to bat for him and repaid it. And then one day, he needed that person to help him out, repay that gesture. And they just don't and not only that, they completely ignore him and shun him as soon as he starts acting out. Because they don't care to repay, or don't care to repay this, or whatever. Downey was making less, he didn't want Howard to make more...he didn't want to jeopardize his relationship with the studio as this was big for him, or he just didn't care. Or there is more to the story. Basically, the lesson I Iearned this exact hard way too - don't expect anyone to return a favor, just because you pay attention to such stuff and repay it. And if you are afraid of getting burned, just keep your feelings to yourself and don't stick your nose where it shouldnt be. It wasn't Howard's job to help Downey, if they werent good friends. Sacrifice and altruism near the top in a business world like Hollywood doesnt pay off.

i think his refering to insurance, actors, even if they are not working in an action and stunt heavy movie, even if its sitting down and talking to the camera they need insurance. RDJ's back in the day insurances premium must have been next to impossible to cover because of that wild wild behaviour of his. If what Terrances says is true that is crappy move on RDJ. Hope not. I remember that even for Jacky Chan it was hard to film American based movies because when the insurance company saw the main lead running down the side of a skyscraper IRL they do the math and the money to cover expenses, avoid lawsuits and fight lawsuits and payoff productio. in case he died is veeeery high. Thats why Jackie Chans stunts were greatly "toned" down in comparison to his Hong Kong only movie days. In the case of RDJ because of substance abuse he could have died in the middle of filming. No insurnace company would have taken the risk to insure him unless the studio put up a huge premium.

Gibson was doing a film called the Sleeping Detective which he was producing. Realizing that RDJ was being black balled by the industry. He cast RDJ as the lead which was originally his character and took a supporting role in the film. He was hoping this would help open doors for RDJ by people seeing he was clean and still a great actor.

@@jokerz7936 RDJ was in a spiral going no where. He was lucky to have Mel in his life, he could have died. He got so many oportunities When I was a lad he was on Ally Mcbeal and he was great on that show, they brought him back for the last season, despite getting. fired for substance abuse in previous seasons. He was that good. I remember Chuck Lorre complaining about Charlie Sheen. Charlie was always professional and did his job and didnt partake in illegal activities, just weird and crazy but not illegal. RDJ was making crack in the microwave of 05 Star hotel suites with hookers/drugaddicts. Chuck Lorre made one of the most succesful comedies in history if he had been working with that RDJ Two and a Half Men would have never gotten to a second season. It took the cast of Friends 10 years to 01million per episode and Charlie Sheen did that at about season 3 or 4.
