Thank you for this!!!!! I'm a right foot forward skier who tends to have a little more weight on my back foot turning into the gate, and I'm trying to have more weight on my front foot, and even stand on the balls of my feet, which does not work so well for me. When you said you commit your left hip, it really resignated with me, to be able to start a little more back, but not rock back on my tail and have a good turn in through the gate! I've been focusing on my knees as arrows towards the opposite shore, to ski with better angle, cross course, not down course. Can't wait to use your advice in the course, this upcoming weekend! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love that it helped! In slalom we are all trying to do the same thing but sometimes you've got to go about things in a different way, like starting back can make you finish further forwards! Let me know how it goes!

Ok I hear you, but how do I pull out for the gate effectively? I want to get the proper width without having too much (or too little) speed to have a solid turn into the gates.

Noticed that with Will at hilltop in gate glide water was breaking behind his boot

Hey Bryce, this is very true! However notice a lot of this is from foot movement and having more pressure actually through is back foot instead of being on his back foot because all his body weight is back. In my opinion he also does a fantastic job of moving his weight forwards through his turn to finish incredibly stacked at the finish leaving him in a very efficient and strong position when the pull comes on and it’s time to accelerate across course! A lot of this he has done for many years and has built into a habit that has worked for him, the basics are there he just gets there in a slightly different fashion than most!
