Yo guys don’t ever shoplift from target and think you’re getting away with it. They hire a guy solely to look at the cameras and record you shoplifting until you get up to a felony amount so they know the charge will stick lol. They will make you do the race for real.

This doesn’t even fucking make sense tho. To hire all that manpower and resources to scrutinize literally every customer in every aisle for every single hour… all for what??? Like you fucking wait months until they eventually surpass the $1000 mark all the while keeping an enormous database tracking all the current summations for all identified shoplifters, but then what? Ok you now legally bust their ass, they pay back the $1000 worth of goods or whatever, but at the end of the day, isn’t this a HUGE fucking waste of time and money for Target? Why not spend all that effort and resources on other shit that’ll help the store grow? I don’t get it.

@@SyenPie They are a multi billion dollar corporation. Hiring a dude to keep an eye on the products is really nothing to them. They want to discourage shoplifting as much as possible so they offer harsh punishments. Really not hard to understand my man. They pay the dude what like $100 a day to keep watch, it’s not a big cost to them, and by warding off actual and potential shoplifters they have saved millions.

lol I was asset protection at target and shoplifters used to be so freaked out when we had them handcuffed in our office and we would call them by their first name before seeing their ID and telling them about all the other things we’ve seen them steal from other target stores and other nearby retailers. It’s all because target has what is essentially their own social media just for theft and we would often reach out to other stores in the area and try to keep a good relationship with local PD.

As someone who’s been caught shoplifting (twice, yeah, I really should have learned my lesson the first time but the second time was a bigger eye opener for me) - from Stop and Shop and Dollar Tree respectively - and has gotten DAMN lucky I was just told not to come back in both instances, it really is no joke when you get pulled off to the side and feel embarrassed from being caught. It really isn’t worth it honestly. You NEVER know if it can end up into a “don’t come back here ever again” situation or having to give over your info and get the police involved. It may seem fun but the fun is soon gone when you’re caught. It isn’t worth it at all.

One of my friend's parents who works with supermarket databases once told me about how everyone who's ever made a purchase at target has their own profile setup linked with various store patterns and personal information. Apparently if you visit enough they even know which aisles you frequent and finding out about shoplifting is the easy part of it. Ever since I heard that I completely erased the thought of even attempting to steal at a Target lol.

Every-time I go to target I start filling up my pockets with stuff instead of getting a cart. Then I wait until I’m followed by 3 people from LP, then I go to self checkout and pay for my things. It’s fun and exciting, they might even have the balls to confront me and ask me what’s in my pockets. That’s when I tell them exactly what’s in my pockets. To be honest probably like 5 to 10 people walk out of self checkout without paying for everything like every hour, while they waste their time following me like Gestapo because I don’t want a cart.
