Perfect score for a masters is seriously impressive! It's no wonder that you understand the math of this game and the mechanics that actually influence the outcomes of game on a level that most other professional players don't even comprehend. Consistently showing that mental mechanics are more important that physical mechanics in League might even be more impressive than a perfect Masters, but both are accomplishments for history books. You're definitely a top 3 League creator, and one of the few content creators on the whole platform that I am always in the mood to watch. Bringing clear mindedness, intellectualism, levity, constant improvement, and having genuine fun improving and optimizing your gameplay for not just yourself, but your whole team and even opponents is incredible.

i started playing shen just a month before finding your channel, and since then i got good with shen. yesterday i played a match, we won, and i got two honors, i got A+, i was like 5-3-20, and it was a very fun match. it feels bad knowing i won't play league anymore after vanguard, but i'm happy i managed to play shen well, and mostly thanks to your videos.

Very nice game and your commentary was lovely as always, but i feel like you + renata were the ones who enabled the comeback, you ulted jinx, which made her help in the fight, and renata ulted perfectly (3 ad champions!) under tower while the enemies used their escape tools to kill you (ezreal E, lucian E, gragas E, all naut CC), of course it wouldn't be as good without the rengar cleanup but really felt like you didn't give renata enough credit ahhaa And of course congratulations on finishing your last exams and good luck on the thesis :)

I was wondering how you were doing at school at the start of the video as I am also interested in mathematics, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you are in a master's program. Good to know my favorite shen otp has 200 iq

Randuin's omen doesn't apply to pantheons Q because it is just a cosmetic crit; according to the wiki, it also doesn't apply to abilities that deal BONUS damage with a critical strike (even if it's increase with infinity edge), but only abilities that deal MODIFIED damage or that are treated like a basic attack. I think the difference between modified and bonus damage is weird and it's hard to know what kind an ability is without just looking it up. So for example, against a Garen Q, if the attack is a crit, it reduces the damage of the base attack, which is increased due to it being a crit, but the Q itself applies bonus damage which doesn't crit and isn't reduced by randuins; Garen's E, however, is ALSO not reduced by randuins omen because while it does do crits based on critical strike chance and scaling with crit damage, this is bonus damage, not modified damage, so it's not reduced. But it should work against for example Miss Fortune Q, Kayle's passive fire waves, Xin Zhao's Q, since those are modified by critical strike modifiers. It's all very confusing. I think it doesn't work against Samira's Q, because it deals spell damage and the critical strike is bonus damage; it SHOULD work against Yasou's Q, because while that's bonus damage, it deals basic damage, UNLESS it hits multiple enemies and you're not the closest, in which case it counts as area damage and I'd assume doesn't get reduced? So basically, if it's a cosmetic crit, it doesn't get reduced by randuins, if it's not a cosmetic crit, it sometimes gets reduced by randuins and sometimes it doesn't, depending on how the coders decided to implement that spell :) hope that makes things clear

11:10 the reason behind this is that AP increases only the dmg of mages abilities. So even if they have 20 mejai's stacks, they will still deal no dmg if you dodge their combo(which usually consists of dodging the first stun-ability and the rest just doesn't hit because you weren't stunned). Ocult sword on the other hand was giving AD, which not only increases dmg of your abilities but also dmg of your auto attacks. Which means that, for example if you are playing Zed, and you miss 2 out of 3 of your shurikens(which means normally you wouldnt get a kill), with occult sword you just can land w auto attcks and still kill your target. and Since you are snowballing, your enemies don't have enough dmg to kill you while you are landing your 2 auto attacks. At least this was the case back when the item got removed. Right now with all the dmg that league has zed probably wouldnt be able to just stand and auto attack somebody to death. But let's not forget that occult sword could be also built on bruisers and skirmishers, who are naturally more tanky than assassins/mages. Now let's imagine Jax/Yasuo or Riven with fully stacked occult sword. all of those champs have either lifesteal or shields which allow them to dish out that dmg. btw, there was also another Mejai-like item in league of legends which gave you bonus HP for every stack. It was also removed for being too snowbally because with Mejai and even occult sword, no matter how much stacks you have, you are always exactly as easy to kill as you would be with 0 stacks. On the other hand, the tank mejai item made you harder to kill with every stack, which measn that the more stacks you had, the less risk of losing them was. But honestly I think that in nowadats league those items could find their place expecially that we now have items like heartsteel which is literally just better version of that item.

11:25 this is just speculation but I feel that the sword being removed while mejais stayed is due to the accessibility of AD vs AP, getting ramping AD on every auto attack is much more potent due to autoattacking benefiting from it as compared to ramping AP, where in most cases only abilities are benefiting, and these are gated by cooldowns. Mejais just gives abilities a bit more damage, while the AD alternative would benefit autoing AND AD scaling abilities.
