i mean it all goes full circle considering the premise of the overarching story and the dilemma of gluttony, its quite fitting, at firsg i just expected the manga to be like slice of life fantasy setting but it really had a complex plot that redefined what I would expect from a manga like this, it was unassuming at first I just expected it to go on forever till they completed every food group of a monster but this story actually has a proper end.

In retrospect, Laios had indeed planned to do what he did ever since he learned of how being a Dungeon Lord worked from Marcille... Which wasn't quite that long before actually putting his plan into motion, but the very fact he was able to plan the deception of a literal demon is impressive in itself. He stayed silent because he was making a gamble (that the demon would be far too greedy to consider being deceived), and answering positively to Kabru's question would imply certainty, which was far from the reality. TL; DR: Laios took a gamble and he hates lying to others. Not to mention that Kabru wouldn't think twice about killing a dude that places the fate of the entire world into gambles.

The manga are quite bizarre, started from what look like just a gag fantasy manga about how to eat anything from the dungeon out of curiosity at first glance then later the story turn into something deeper and more bizarre like witchcraft and ancients lore and other stuff. Highly recommended. Edit: damn, the anime release really made my comment blow up. It was only 1k the last time I saw it last year, and a week ago, it reached 2k, and now it got another 1k in just one week. Thanks.

I'm not really great at explaining things and don't want to spoil anything, but I'd give the series a solid 9/10 and is one of my favorite manga.

The R slur has been used to attack multiple Disabled communities including the Autistic community, but especially the Intellectually Disabled community. It's history as a word is rooted in ableism and has been used to strip Disabled people of their rights. The slur is still weaponzied against Disabled communities to this day. I recommend you delete the slur.

Laios is the kind of character who was often misunderstood by his friends because of his interest with monsters. It's because of this misunderstanding of Laios' personality that everyone around him suspected he could become "evil" if he wanted to. Which to be honest sounds kinda sad for Laios as a person because it just sounds like nobody ever fully trusted Laios in any case as a friend. Maybe more like a "companion" than a friend if that's what was going on, but still.

Dungeon Meshi doesn't really get much darker this (although it's anyone's guess what Kui has planned for coming chapters), but I'll have more videos coming soon, when I have the time to make them! :)
