Yoh Phetola, this mirrors how my husband and I marriage started. I started following you in social media. This was happening in 2016 to date for us. He provided from our wedding, however from there, no income. This has given me so much peace, because I was the 'weird' one in my circles. My husband was great though in cooking, pick me and dropping me off from work, he would clean. He would do laundry,right now he is pursuing his dream and has started providing financially after almost 6 years. He was great when we had the baby, he was a "stay at home dad" for a whole year which gave me a peace of mind.

Not only does Phethola's years of experience as a young wife make her credible but also her level of authenticity! She really doesn't hold back, and she does it with such grace! I completely enjoyed this topic. I think it's very important for women to be open to anything happening in the relationship in the financial sphere of things especially! I believe in hypergamy and patriarchy but in the same breath I am aware that the sun won't always shine for men to fulfill their masculine roles specially in such volatile times.

Sometime we forget that even if you marry someone with money you can lose it whilst married. Life happens like sickness, lose your job and many other factors.lets just love intentionally

This has been my reality and haven't really had someone to talk to about it because of "controversies" but I'm happy to know that I'm not alone and it is conceivable and doable. Thanks ladies

I'm like Pheto with my hubby also in our early 20's and for a long time I worked but he wasn't but he gave me his car to get to work and made sure I had everything I needed. It was no easy for him but we got through it and it made us stronger together. We are so open with our finances

Yes its good to get involved in the finances even if you not contribution so that you are aware of where the money goes and what costs what. It also helps to not drain the breadwinner in expectations
