Have you ever heard the saying, “Don't bite off more than you can chew because nobody looks attractive spitting it back out.”? Well, that’s been me for the past few weeks. I had a plan, it started to change, and rather than let it be what it was, I held onto it desperately. That was a mistake…

“Easy does it” hasn’t ever been a part of my mantra. But this time my desire to create the dream vacation and keep up with everything else collided in a less-than-desirable way. I couldn’t let the whole situation just slide by without acknowledging it. Then of course, because it involves the people I love most, I tend to be extra emotional about it all.
Luckily it wasn’t an epic failure, and nothing was ruined, just a very good reminder to set reasonable expectations.
And speaking of expectations…that is what has led us to the boat show. We are itching to get a peek at a now 3-year-old HH50 Ocean Cruiser. How has it held up? What’s the wear and tear look like? What problems or issues has the owner run into? These are all things we’re eager to know.
I believe it’s the first Ocean Cruiser HH ever built and will be a much more realistic expectation of what our HH44 OC will resemble. Because we didn’t go for the Sport Cruiser with the carbon mast and daggerboards. So we shall see…

WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

For what it's worth, the Florence video last week was one of my all time favorites! Rather than just watching someone else's adventures from afar, you two have a knack of bringing us (your viewers) into your journeys with you. I for one am very grateful that you choose to share your lives with us. Thank you!

It's all good, you two. We enjoyed the Florence vlog! We watch because of YOU! No matter where or the type of transport you're in! Allow yourself sometimes to be not perfect. We still will love you and the way you do everything. Your channel is about life, not about sailing, and with that, life is chaotic. You've done well with the chaos and still kept us updated on the goings on. And you did what could with them in Tuscany! What matters is you still got to spend time with your family and check off a bucket list thing. Even if it was a short visit, everyone clearly still had a blast and were making memories that will last a lifetime. We appreciate that, take care of yourselves and your family.

You should have told your sister, Yo-jong to take over. Given your family's god-like status she would probably have immediately put the Wynns ahead of PewDiePie, or whoever is the current world leader in subscribers and viewers.

We've watched you for many years because we enjoy your content. Whether your in an RV; an apartment; or a boat, we've always watched. This is my first time commenting because I'm at a place in my life where I COMPLETELY understand what you're saying and it's helped me a ton. There's nothing more important than family, your health and your peace of mind. We will patiently wait for the next video whenever you decide to upload. Much love to you.

My wife and I have been fans since the RV days, we love your honesty and sincerity. We know you guys work hard to provide your fans great content, and we also know it’s not just “ traveling the world doing selfies.” We’ve seen so many “competitors” of yours pop up over the past 5 years or so, and I’m sure you worry at least occasionally about fans losing interest. We WON’T. And we know you need a break every now and then, or that not all goes as intended, but never fear: we are as loyal to you and Jason as you are to us! And juggling family, work, travel, etc etc must be soooo tough. Give yourself a hug and have a sundowner! 😉

Oh Nickie, we can all relate. Most of us take on too much at some point and get overwhelmed. At 54, I have learned that it is ok to just say "no" - even to yourself, which is probably the most difficult no of all. Take time when you need to!

Traveling, sailing or driving, planning, videos, dialog and editing every week makes my head explode. I do enjoy following you guys and miss you when you are not there. If you didn’t just tell me that you “messed up”, I never would have known it. I took a short hiatus from the channel when you moved onto the boat. However, I came back because of both of you. So, you could be travelling by bike, or air balloon, and I would still be watching you. You did show me in this episode, though, the difference between travelling on the water and travelling on the road. There’s no traffic to speak of on the water! 😉 I am also an emotional bawler at the airport, so I completely understand that as well. Sending much love and hugs to you. ❤❤

With more than half a million subscribers, I assure you that you’ll be fine! You’re perfectionists in many ways and by definition too hard on yourselves. Many of us don’t care about the order, the thumbnail, the timing of each video, we’re just happy to watch you two being…YOU! Kinda like at a wedding when you plan everything to be perfect, but the guests have no idea if the flowers are the ‘wrong’ color or the song line-up is not in the order you requested from the band. They’re going to take pictures and dance anyway! I want all the best for you both. That includes you taking time away and taking time for togetherness and family. If I don’t see a video each week, I’ll watch an oldie but goodie. If that matters to others, forget about it. Don't worry! A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work! Also, based on research, there are 157.5 tunnels between Pisa and the border at Ventimiglia (I know it's Florence but I think it would still be around that; the .5 is for the tunnel straddling the border). I mean it makes sense just considering the terrain!

Never apologize or criticize yourself for wanting to spend time with your family. I have lost enough family members to know the time you spend with them will never be enough, I miss them every day. The “algorithm” is dumb. Last weeks video was wonderful. Your personalities, your “real” sharing of your lives and experiences, the amazing places you visit, the hardships you face, all of it. Would I love to do something like you guys do? Absolutely. Do I have the means? Not at all. But so long as I have your videos, Nikki and Jason, I’ll still get see some amazing experiences. I first started watching you guys back in your van life days, when I was thinking about doing van life myself (and I am 5 years in now!!!) I have zero interest in living on a boat myself, but I watch your videos faithfully all these years later because I am interested in your journey, not the vehicles you use for that. As a nomad now myself, it’s about the experiences, and those will come in vehicles and ways both expected and unexpected and that’s part of what I love about it. That being said, you don’t OWE us anything, you choose to share, and it’s okay to take breaks and keep some things private, that’s healthy even. I am so very grateful for what you do share, and I will continue to watch you guys as long as you choose to share your journey!

I would like to add my two cents. When you sold Curiosity and, knowing the new boat would not be completed for some time, I wondered how you were going to fill that gap. I happen to feel you have filled it very well. The places you have taken us and the different things you have shown us has been very interesting and enjoyable and that includes last week's episode in Florence. If you hadn't said anything I would never have known you "messed up." Your videos are always very well done and it was nice to see your aunt with you, she was a star. Sorry to hear about your uncle not being well, he could of been a star too. I think your followera are pretty solid and know what it is you do. Yes we would have understood you taking three weeks off, but hindsight is 20/20. You'll know next time. Honestly, I am looking forward to when you take possession of, I'm assuming, Curiosity 2 or Too", but in the meantime I'll enjoy what you have in store for us.

I love all of your videos. I feel you are doing all of the hard part of traveling for me and I get all of the easiest parts of seeing all of the interesting places, incredible people and happenings (good and bad). Your videos are great - no matter what your content is. There will always be people that will complain. You guys inspire and encourage even when not trying to entertain.

Stuff the algorithm! We watched last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The algorithm never works for us but we get some wonderful people thanking us for the vids we make. Just keep doing what you are doing because you tell a great story regardless of the content matter. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

A very meaningful video, Nikki, your willingness to let your emotions be a part of it is what makes it so powerful. Please don’t apologize or feel like you messed up…things change, you change with them…no matter what you do or how you do it, we love being part of your lives.

Nikki we love you both and as you mentioned we will totally understand and support you when you take breaks. I'm glad you opted to just focus on your time with your family the last few days of their trip. Looking forward to the boat show and the rest of the family adventures when they come out. Remember to just be and savor where you are and the moments together too. Cheers you both!!!!

It's not the boat, or the rv that we love about your channel. It's you, it's always been you! I was so excited when I saw you were in England, because you were suddenly so close since I live in Norway. I have followed you long before you got a sailboat. Lots of love from Norway!

Once again you showed how wonderful, thoughtful and kind you both are. 3 weeks ago I started a well planned 2 1/2 months trip to Europe. After 3rd day of arrival I came down with major cold. I can say it’s not fun to be sick in a foreign country where you don’t know the language. Spending 5 hours waiting in an emergency room was not fun either. Then trying to tell the nurses and doctors what’s wrong with you. Nevertheless they were very nice and helpful. It took 8 days to get completely well. I wish your uncle a quick recovery and both of you a relaxing and safe rest of your journey.

First time commenter here, but I need to try and put your mind at rest along with all your other faithful followers … I don’t watch you because of your mode of transportation or even the exotic, interesting places you take us, I eagerly look forward to each of your videos because of the people you are, your kind hearts, sense of humor, your ability to make me feel like I’m your friend and your exceptional filming and editing skills that make each and every video a treat to enjoy! I watch many different YT channels with very different and varied content, but you and Jason are my favorites. You’ve taken me on adventures and to places I could only dream about and made me feel that I was there and for that I’m so very grateful. Please take time for yourself and your loved ones and give yourself the grace to be completely present in the moment ~ you so deserve it, and we will always be here when you come back 🥰. I watched last weeks video and was enthralled … it was over much too quickly for me, and I will watch it several more times and enjoy Florence, a place I will never experience in person, but thanks to you I can now appreciate and feel like I did visit 😀👏! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip with your family and to touring the boats at the boat show, especially the HH 50 OC! Again, take time to smell the roses, they wither much too quickly, and thank you for the many hours of enjoyment you have so graciously and expertly provided to me and all your followers ❤😘!! Faithful follower …… Deb

I will never sail, but I have learned so much from the the two of you.. many of your issues with power and water are mirrored by those of us living in remote locations. I learn something from you every time you post. Thank you.. Where you go, we will follow 🥰

If the algorithm puts bread and butter on the table it will nibble on your soul once and a while but the reality of who you are and the honesty of sharing your vulnerability makes myself as well as many other longtime subscribers feel honoured to be both your presence every week. I watched last week’s episode and loved it! And your intentions were absolutely correct and spot on, filming the tour of Italy was so important to remembering this epic family tour. And today’s video is no less wonderful because it is simpler than normal. Really, you two involve us in your everyday, so this “real” sit down with us is just as touching as every other thing you share. Nothing but thanks and big appreciation for all you do!!
