As someone who carries a camera in their hand a lot of the time, it can be hard for me to put the camera down, live the moment, instead of living through the lens.
A concept I always seem to struggle with, as the desire to shoot an amazing photo is sometimes too hard to resist
Another hike, another (dry) day out in the Lake district, snapping some photos. Here we go one last hike before we go

Great reminder, Steph. It's easy to fall into the habit of approaching every situation (especially travel) from the perspective of "How can I turn this into content?" but it's super important to make some space for just experiencing life in the moment instead of through a camera. ...but then you always have to go back and get that content anyway! 😆

I'm so bad, I can't help thinking "man this would be an amazing photo I need to shoot this" rather than "this is a nice moment" and just enjoy it. Worst

I went hillwalking yesterday. I know it is only essential travel but it was essential to me. I was feeling spent. I needed it for my sanity. I could sit at home, go the supermarket or hillwalking. Sometimes doing the wrong thing is the right thing to stop cracking up. Thanks for sharing your beautiful film.

Consider it as exercise, that's allowed 🙃. I know what you mean, tried to get out for a bit this weekend but the rain and the icey wind did not help. Back inside I went 😔 15 days till freedom

It's a bit of a point and shoot type situation in the lakes! Hardest part is not taking a photo of everything

Another great video Steph so pleased you were able to achieve what you set out to do this time and managed to get some beautiful footage and a lovely images to. We do live in a beautiful part of the world with so much variation on offer in quite a small country.

Very cool video! Nice storytelling and visuals 👌. I struggle with when to just “enjoy the moment” as well. Being a videographer/photographer can be a curse at times haha.

I love your videos, you make me want to get off my but and go make something. But also when I watch them I feel like I am traveling and visiting another beautiful country, even if it is for only 7 mins 😂

Feeling the pain, got this week off and Wales is out of lockdown but that weather, camera isn't weatherproof so its frustrating... on the plus side I need to do quite a bit of practicing lighting indoors so there's that but.... i need to get out and take some videos, want to do pen y fan again and get some shots... but that weather Also feel your pain having to walk somewhere twice uphill just to get the shot lol

Yeah my Sony isn't weather sealed and was not prepared to go in the torrential rain this weekend. Only 2 more weeks of lockdown here wooooo
