I've never been called out in the first ten seconds of a video before xD I definitely need to get in the habit of setting up beforehand -- I did 3 months beforehand and it was great, only to bring me to a screeching halt when I had a load of blank pages for the next month, haha.

I did BUJO years ago but switched to decorative planning as I am not able to draw and doodle. Now I am going to use all those stickers and use a BUJO for one of my planners. I am excited as I can play with layouts every month. I am starting to plan what pages I will put in, the best things, is if I realize I forgot one, I can just add it the next month. yay. I love your channel it is helping me get ready to get back into BUJO's

I started setting up my journal in October. I chose my word for the year, listed my journals for 2024, and collected quotes on my yearly word. It is like I am setting up my dreams for 2024. Broad goals have also been set.

I can not understand, how you keep on going! You allways deliver, get my head straight, i learn so much, get so many tips and this seriously helps me manage myself (depression, anxiety, adhd..) Its hard with a job, husband, kids, dogs and so on… This is my free space, and In my mind, you are the one and only 1. Place candidat for good BUJO videos on youtube! This is funny timing! I made my first idea sketch in september, more tunneled down version in october and actually TODAY started sketching the first pages in my journal for next year! Excited, I finaly started at a time that won't frustrate me. Last couple years I ended up finishing bujo setups in january-february and that made me sad and stressed. Happy with this years earlier start.

I’ve been especially feeling this this year bc I’m going to have to migrate in December bc I’m out of space in my bujo. But I’m also starting a long-term collection journal in the new year, so I’ve got two notebooks to set up and one is a totally new thing for me. And I somehow always manage to be shopping for notebooks when one I really like has JUST gone out of stock. I’m a month earlier than usual this year and STILL feel behind lol

I already started my Reading Journal. I've got the first sections already done, and a few plans for other pages. I also have my new "daily" journal but haven't done anything in it other than the very first page to decorate it and do some planning for the journal itself. Boy it is a lot of work setting up journals but I decided I wanted to do pre-setup for next year because this year my journal was a bit ho-hum because I didn't feel up to actually doing more than just journal and throw some washi and photos in my pages. Great video as usual!

I’ve been watching so much bullet journal videos like setups, tips and reviews since mid September and planning to start my very first journal for 2024. I’m excited. 😇

I'm waiting until December to start setting up my planners. I use a Big Happy Planner, Hobonichi Weeks, and Hobonichi Cousin. I find this time of year really great for inspiration and I'm going to try and fill my pages with all my ideas for 2024 planning. I'm testing out new layouts and building up the excitement. I think it will be a nice gift for my future self to leave the joy of setup for when I need the comfort more in December.

I was so close! to fitting the rest of this year in my current bujo, but then I majorly screwed up some dutch doors in November and had to remove almost a full signature 😅🙃 so, now I get to start my nujo in December!! (Which is only a little bit annoying.) My first & favorite step of setting up a new one is always to make a collage on the first pages (that most people skip or glue together). I always do that pretty early, but then I don't usually finish the rest until the weekend before I'm going to start using it 😅

I started setting up my new bujo bc It's going to be a lot more in depth than this year because I'm gonna be starting stuff that requires more tracking, and i have fatigue issues so I'm just penciling the same layouts for all the montly and weekly stuff, then putting in all the other things i need at the end, so i don't accidentally use up too much space and couldn't put in the month stuff. And now I'm just casually inking and coloring in at my own pace instead of freaking out the week before. And this way I can use it consistently because I don't always have the energy to set up a new weekly page every week!

I set up December 2023 this week so that I have enough time to set up 2024 this weekend. So that means I can set up January in December. It's perfect.

In my family we ask what we would like to get for Christmass (we are all grown ups and mostly all packages are delivered to my house, so we all know what comes in them anyway), so I'm thinking of asking for a notebook and some stationery supplies as a gift. That means I don't have much time for planning, but it also means I'd be able to get some gorgeous supplies I wouldn't buy for myself. Other option is to get a notebook on my own and decorate it after Christmass, with all the layouts already planned. 🤔

I've ordered the supplies I believe I will need for my 2024 journal, but other than that haven't started working on it yet. Truth be told I haven't even finished my November setup yet due to last month just being far too busy for me to do it haha.

In the past I've waited until the last week of December. But lately I've been having trouble finding time for my journal. So this year I'm going to start end of November so that I have as much planned out as possible. I think what I'm planning to do is fill in all the functionality (boxes, and lines for layouts I know I will use) and just leave the decorating part for each month. That will make the monthly setups shorter and easier to do when I'm busy. Great video, thanks!

I do my brainstorming and itemizing in Samsung Notes so it's always current and available on my phone and tablet and I can draw or write whenever and however I want. For layout ideas I use a dollar store sketch pad and make borders that match my page sizes, and work in pencil, but I did just size a dot grid Notes template to match an A5's exact scale (too bad I'm switching to B5 next year haha). From there I wait until at most a week before I'm going to use the new stuff otherwise I, much like you, just want to use the new and put aside the old. I did select Nov's pens and washi at the same time as Oct's, but that's because of the flower/gemstone theme I mentioned in another videos comments and the 2 months were very similar. I had to make sure I didn't repeat any of the items. 😉

I'm struggling to decide what I'm doing for my planner next year. I bought an iPad for school and I bought Goodnotes so I could digitally plan but now, after almost a full semester of digital planning, I kinda miss a physical bujo but I KNOW I don't use it as much as I'd like to. And ai haven't found a premade digital bujo I like. Ahhhhh choices choices!

I started the planning stage in late August. I started working on calendars in October.

My last journals have lasted me 7 months each, which is a bit of an odd number but I like filling up the entire notebook. This means I'm starting a nujo in December. I don't really mind since I found I didn't really use any start of year collections once I moved into a new journal and even before that it kind of stressed me out to keep track of them. So I'll just stick to the start of journal collections that worked and enjoy watching other people do their yearly collections 🤗

Started putting together my 2024 reading journal in October. 😊

I started my 2024 journal set up a few months ago, when I got the idea to do an entire year of Broadway musicals for my theme, with a different show each month. (Broadway nerd here!) I was so excited to get stickers for each show I couldn't wait to get started!! My problem is I see new ideas and inspo for themes and I want to do them all and I have to wait until either 2025, or start another journal for something else to use them - maybe a goals journal!

I started my 2024 notebook back in September, and I'm still working on it little by little. The big things are done, but there are some smaller things I still wanna get done a few things. I set up a notebook for Jan-June 2024, and will likely do similar for June-Dec... I'll start that set up in March sometime so I can get all the spreads, themes, and deco sorted so I can start migration come June!

I'm struggling with this right now. I'm going to be away the last week of November so I need to set up December before I leave, so probably two weeks from now. I'll be in my December setup for one week, gone for a week, and by the time I'm back home there's only one week until the holidays start. So it feels like I pretty much have three weeks total to set up my December and new year journal, in addition to the other daily life things and Christmas prep so I'm feeling stretched thin. 😂

I usually start my new year bujo leading & 1 month early with lots of penciling as I’m a perfectionist too 🧐 then finalise at Xmas after my Black Friday sale supplies arrive for the whole year (plus old stash). The months I typically do the 20th - 25th.

I was literally just thinking if it was too early to start working on my 2024 journal set up yesterday so this is perfect timing!

I have new journal and supplies ready, and have been thinking about what to include (which is how i ended up here, hi!), but setting up on new years day is my little ritual! I tend to be more basic bujo tho, and don't set up weekly/daily in advance tho, so it doesn't take too long

I typically set up my entire 6 months journal all at once - which for me means that by the time the new year or second half of the year starts, I have the entire journal ready (not that I sit down and do it in one day - it takes a while). This keeps me from using my creative energy on designing and setting months up each month (rather than writing - which is what I should be doing with my creative energy). So far I have my front matter and January finished for my 2024 journal. I also tend to theme my entire journal based on the cover (my current one is the A&O bats from a couple Halloweens ago, so every month has different types of bats as the theme - October was cat bats [cats with bat wings like they were in Halloween costumes]). That makes it a little easier to do all at once for me since I'm not changing themes. I sometimes play around with layouts, but I've found a couple that work well for me, so I tend to just use the same ones over and over anyway. And I figure that if I decide I want to try a new size of journal or some new layouts or something, I have a few test journals in different sizes that I can test things out in and I usually don't feel that way until about halfway through a journal, so I usually only have 2 months left in the current one before I can switch and by that point, it's reasonable for me to start setting up for the next half of the year. I am starting to get a backlog of empty journals though, so I've trying to figure out if I could justify quarterly journals instead of 6 months, but I'm not sure I can fill one every 3 months and would hate to waste the space. We'll see how 2024 goes.

I felt the whole... do the last minute set up thing because that was November... the day before November starts. I had the day off so it was great, but man... I will try to not do that again. I'm already trying to decide what collections I want for my new journal. Beyond a future log I don't know if I want any collections to last the duration of the journal, and instead maybe a duration of a month because besides the future log I don't really check in with those collections. Instead I tend to check in on starting with the monthly log going forward when I start and end my day. But that may mean I have to commit to an index if I do it that way... so there are early thoughts for sure.

I plan on setting up my journal for 2024 in december its more closer to the end of the year and i know what my goals for the near year would be and how to tailor my journal for those goals.

I was just thinking about what theme to use for December (I finally found which spreads and notebooks works for me after years and years... for the most at least 😅) and then I want to work on my nujo asap 😊

I ordered both my Hobonichi Weeks and the dot journal I'm going to be using for the start of 2024 in the beginning of September, and have tentatively picked the themes and started penciling in some of the spreads in the Hobonichi. But a lot will have to wait until after I've decided on my goals, in early or mid December.

So excited to start 2024 with the Denim & Daisies that I bought today!! I'm hoping the new A&O dot grid stencil will also help 🌼

I have mine and my friends 2024 STM book ready, and now i’m like - its because I cant choose color/themes… First I thought it was 1. Page - problems, but even when I allow my self to start in an other spot, I can’t get stuff on paper- argh ! I have to start now. I will never be ready in time if I dont 😅😅😅 - Maybe i’ll search for theme ideas on your channel next 😂

I've almost got my yearly pages done. I've just got my vision board, which is a lot of cutting and gluing, and then populating the spreads. I also like to have my monthly setups done in advance cause I find I don't have the done by the start of the month, and then I get discouraged.

So I ordered a new journal yesterday and once it comes in I wanna start immediately, but it feels a bit iffy starting it on December.. Would it be wiser to wait until/plan for January instead? I have a lesser quality Bujo right now that Im doing November in. Should I do December in there and start January fresh?
