I once met a boy in my dreams. Haven't seen him in a while though. this song makes a major throwback to those mornings where I woke up pretty happy because I was currently meeting him in my dreams. Never knew his name, and its a shame.

I had this friend in 7th grade. He’d pick on me 24/7 so we were kinda enemies but, something about him I liked a lot. Suddenly he stopped coming to school. We saw him less and less, and he didn’t have social media. The next year in 8th grade, he wasn’t there. I wanted to know what happened to him but no one knew. People hardly remembered him.. 9th grade came, I kinda forgot about him. Then randomly last night at like 11 pm I thought “what happened to him?” Then no less than an hour later, I receive a follow request on Instagram. The account doesn’t have any pictures of him, but his name is there and his profile picture faintly looks like him. So I accept and follow back. Then get a DM: Hey, I followed everyone I recognized. I think it’s him? (also this intro just reminds me of it a lot and it kinda hurts😔✌️)

i'm such an extrovert so i had so much friends during kindergarten 2 up to grade 2. around grade 3 i became a little more closeted. grade 4 i stuck to one friend then another. grade 5 i stuck to another new friend. grade 6 (which is my year rn and im turning grade 7) i stick to a bunch of people but mostly two friends, one from grade 5 and another one who i rarely talked to. i miss my friends from kinder 2 - grade 2. english was the first language i heard so they helped me learn my dialect. i broke a lot of school rules with them. i once skipped class with a boy classmate back in kinder 2 and hung out in the highschool department which was really far from my classroom. sometimes in public i see my current classmates of that school year, but rarely, i see those who i barely recognize. they transferred schools after graduating from kindergarten and y'know, we were too young to have phones. they seem familiar so i try to approach them and they remember me. this song keeps on making my heart ache. it's quarantine and i'm experiencing so much nostalgia. i miss my friends. i miss those friends who i used to hang out with as a kid. suddenly i'm invited to a groupchat. my classmates and the people from the other section. suprisingly..some people from past years. i'm finally able to talk to them. getting negative vibes lately. i don't know why. *but, i'll miss them and my memories.*

I swear I’ve only first heard this song at least half a year ago and this part is at most a minute long, but it feels... weirdly nostalgic? Like childhood memories you can never revisit, a friendship that disappeared over time, fun times you wish you could go back to. I was scared that my neighborhood friend would never come back because she was from another province and only got to visit for a few days. I remember the days we always get to play with each other, but now I don't think she remembers me. I do see her visit sometimes, but she doesn't seem to even glance at me or even talk to me, it's like she ignored me. Another story was a childhood best friend of mine, we lived near each other and we went to the same school, but she was younger than me 1 year. Then one day, I had to move to middle school, she was still in elementary. But during my semester, she moved houses, I never saw her again.
