Unironically these are some of the best cops I’ve seen. Good defusing techniques, they told him the truth, they weren’t aggressive with him, they were calm, and they were trying to make sure he had some contact with his mom all while practicing good distancing and caution techniques for their own safety without escalating to weapons. This is how every cop should handle every situation first. Even though the guy ran, this shows he was still reasonable.

@@nighteye4042 it doesn’t need to be, majority of police interactions (outside of the UK) are exactly like this. Edit: ignore this clown. He’s just making up shit bc of commonly regurgitated myths regarding police. My response to this fool: “no, what you’re telling me a complete myth. Statistically a majority of negative police interactions are towards white people. You are spreading completely false information and have no idea what you’re talking about. The uk police are specifically more violent towards white people than other races bc of political correctness. And in America the police force is afraid of interacting with black people bc of racist like you who make up myths of police brutality. There are 49 million black people in America and only 1000 are killed by cops a year. A vast majority of them were armed criminals or gang members. Whereas with white people it’s triple that and more than half of the victims were unarmed and fleeing. People like you spread so much bullshit about this subject that I literally cannot find fbi data even if I specifically search for it bc the only shit I get are articles by the fucking Washington post or tabloid sites regurgitating what the Washington post said…and all of it is completely made up More black people are killed by other black people in gang shootouts than black people are killed by the police.”

@@zzodysseuszz No, they really aren't with black men here in the US. It is an unfortunate reality that ancient ideas of white supremacy are given sactuary in our equally ancient police systems. Police are not properly taught self control, and this video and others like it need to be shown to help instill self control in these people. I'd also like to point out that the UK shouldn't be alone there, there are many totalitarian and authoritarian regimes where policing is MUCH more violent than in the UK or the US, due simply to the lack of any due process.

The cops did a great job here. This is how you de-escalate a situation. The system is broken/unfair/unjust/violent, but this is how it should operate ideally. Someone is afraid, they don’t know what to do. They panic and run and try to escape. And rather than blast him, they actually try to talk him down. If he’d been just a little more aggressive I wouldn’t be surprised if this would’ve been a completely different story.
@KatSpicert
@KatSpicert Жыл бұрын
This is only an exaggerated, exceptional example of how cops _usually_ are. You are statistically going to have much better interactions in much higher numbers than worse when it comes to cops, depending on the crime or reason. The problem is when the bastard cops are the loud minority and it's sad the system allows then to even exist.
@kissthunderstrike4014

@@RommekePommeke The whole gun toting american thing is also just misudnerstanding. The cheapest guns cost over around a couple hundred dollars and that's not counting the ammo. Most people who own guns got hand-me downs, so the average man would have to make a huge investment in getting a gun, which also includes training to get the license.

To be honest these cops were nice AF. Cops don't have to be super nice, they just can't abuse their power, if a cop is just kinda indifferent neither nice or mean but doing the job properly without abusing power that's fine, but yeah it is funny how pyro thinks that US cops are these mass murderers who are a hive mind 🤣

Honestly I love how the cops were so patient and understanding the man really was just scared. He probably was really scared for his life which is why he sped off. The part at the end where they just said a communication issue is so true as well. I felt so bad when the guy was shaking. Props to these cops, they actually were so good at defusing and so calm and even giving him a cigarette to try to calm him down a bit. This video gave me a lot of hope for humanity, and that there is still some good out there after all the awful we see

I mean, the police here are pretty unpredictable. They're allowed to lie about evidence, ask to see people's IDs even when they aren't committing felonies, and police unions enable and protect this behavior. There's many more examples of misconduct I can think of, and most people here don't know about their rights and blindly do whatever they're asked.
@promethium-145
@promethium-145 Жыл бұрын
@Man with hair Yeah, the correlation is inverse. The more people know their rights, the less likely they'll say a word to cops. Not all police are bad, but police unions recycle and protect the bad ones, who think nothing of lying about evidence (which is somehow legal), asking to search property even in the absence of felonies or probable cause, and can arrest people for talking back to them. Not to mention they can get away with murdering people and feign ignorance of the law under "qualified immunity". I think the police should be most severely punished for breaking the law, as they have a monumental responsibility to uphold it.

I don't like how he says "American cops get a bad rap and deservedly so". I have to disagree, obviously some bad apples will get through the system and of course those are the ones media covers and makes the police look a certain way. I watch quite a bit of Donut Operator's content and he covers a lot of bodycam footage, in most of which the cops are usually extremely patient and fair with people. And then there are people who cause a scene about the most simple things (like giving the officer your driver's license) and nowadays every bystander stops, raises their arm like a zombie and starts recording the scene, especially if the officers are *trying* to talk to a person from a minority, in these cases the bystanders usually would end up with videos which paint cops in a bad light because they purposefully or not, left out the context. Most stuff I've seen about the police officers in the US, be it a small PD or the SWAT, has been good. The small good things usually end up unreported.
