@@vinniedotcom if you had been born in very late 1980's or later you could have gotten a Cousin Vinny Italian Joke as a kid. Most I got was my middle name used like my last by my grandpa on Dads side and that stuck with my dad too.

Funny stuff. I had the same experience years ago at a local high end restaurant in Cleveland. My last name is the same as a known family member but pronounced differently. When i called for an 8:00 PM reservation they told me nothing was open for that time but said they could fit me in at a much later time. When I agreed and gave them my name they immediately apologized and said a table would be open for the time I wanted. When I arrived with my date (later my wife) they brought us to a table in front of the fireplace (the most desirable seating in the house) and offered a complimentary cocktail when giving us our menus. Needless to say she was impressed, as it was our first "nice" dinner date. (although I later confessed to the mispronunciation of my name we both enjoyed the confusion.)

I have an Italian friend. My group of friends, the Italian included, were out at a club one Saturday night and this idiot wouldn't take a hint and LEAVE ME ALONE. My friend Bart looked at me and asked, "You want I should take care of this for you?" 🤣 We live in the Midwest, but her was born and raised in Pennsylvania, his grandparents, both sides, were from Sicily. @@vinniedotcom I never thought about that! I can only imagine what some Woke ear hustler would said if they overheard that conversation. They probably said they were offended and of accused us of being degrading and negatively stereotyping certain countries, customs, etc. I've been in a few situations like that; where people NOT part of a conversation in any way, shape or form have chimed in. I repsond with, "Was I talking to you?", "Should I go get you your very own bag of business so you stay the Hell out of ours?" or "Who are you and why are you speaking?" Yes, yes I am that girl. All three of us are in our 50's, all three of us have off color, dark senses of humor, and we do NOT get "offended by", "find stereotyping people to be offensive" or say, "that offends me". Being offended is a personal CHOICE that a person makes every day when they get out of bed. I've got better, more productive things to with my time; like watch paint dry or a car rust. 🤣🤣🤣 ~ APRIL LIPKE
