This video is very relatable because I was born in a Spanish speaking country, and later moved to an English speaking country. Then I proceeded to forget all of Spanish and think “Okay time to relearn everything from my original language because I only speak English now” I am currently in this stage, where I can understand Spanish but cannot speak it very well.

When I was younger I was able to speak Thai fluently. I lost it somewhere when I went to American schools. But for some reason, I'm still able to understand stand it just as much as I could back then. But I can't speak it even if my life depended on it. Great video Nathan, this video hit my soul.

As a fluent Vietnamese speaker and reader, this is very common while in Vietnam because north and south Vietnamese people have different pronunciations. Sometimes even though we are speaking the same language we get it mixed up or confused with something else.

I'm Greek raised in the UK, I relate so much to this. Especially "he's speaking so fast I don't understand English any more". It doesn't help that people switching quickly from Greek to English often mix up the word order, so you get sentences like "you supposed not to the chicken order"

This kind of happened to me and my friends at a restaurant before. The waiter came and said a different language none of me or my friends spoke. My friend pulled out his phone and opened the language detector thing. My friend than said "Please say something to this phone" than the waiter said "I speak english."
