I would say he was more hyped than Mike considering he was a HS kid and everyone was talking about him being the next Mike(who was already undisputed GOAT)-that's massive hype...and West calling him the best workout he'd ever seen and teams fighting to draft him(people forget the threats to play in Europe if Kobe didn't play for LA or Boston. I still see some youngins clowning Charlotte for blowing it, but they basically drafted him for LA bc Kobe wouldn't play anywhere else). Mike came into a big mans league and was never expected to be impactful enough to win anything significant even after his 84 Olympics come out party against NBA stars in 8 exhibition games. Only his USA coach and HOF'er Bobby Knight knew what was coming-calling him the greatest basketball player he had ever seen before ever playing a single NBA game.

I would disagree with the whole he isn’t as gifted , his leaping ability and ball handle was just as good as Jordan and he had better ball handle than lebron. His work ethic & abilities set him apart .
