Asking the merchant is a bad idea. Rather, direct hand over / tap your Amex. This strategy works better.

One query if we do only 4 lacs spend in paying income tax , property tax or utility bills only , will we get 40k points on this milestone benefit or not, bcz we would not get regular reward points in this case, so please clarify on this as this is the only factor that will make my decision to go for this card , else it's waste for me

If you are comfortable with monthly milestones go for MRCC, if yearly milestones are your thing, go for plat travel. If you are a high spender, take both.

In Kolkata every other retailer asks for 3% extra for any card, doesn't matter its Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club or Amex.

sorry bro, very unhelpful video, ideally what you should have done here is tell how to use AMEX where its not accepted. How to not use amex directly but indirectly where its not accepted. Like loading swiggy / zomato wallet for resturants. Loading PAYTM for basic vendors stuff For Fuel using hp wallet and cover all categories to the extent that you can do all your expenses using amex by using it directly or INdirectly.
