Perfect timing on this video. We got a storm that moved in a couple days ago and the bass have completely evacuated their beds and all "juicy" looking structure. I just got skunked yesterday. Going back at it tomorrow in the rain.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors Went out on Sat after the last storm we had and caught 5 fish in 3 hours with a black and blue keitech fat swing impact. They were not responding to me swimming it. I thought I could swim it really slow, but I wasn't getting any bites. I was going to change baits, but I remember you saying to wait. So I stopped reeling and let the bait lay there. I twitched it a couple times, and gave it a slow drag. The hits came right as I twitched, or as I just started to drag after a long pause. It was pretty insane. It's like they started coming out of nowhere. If I gave the bait more motion than that, nothing. What's weird is that I threw a black and blue ned, and a black and blue shaky head, and neither got bit. I think the slow wagging of the fat swing impact's tail was the ticket here. This was in 60 degree muddy rising water the day of the full moon.

Haha, Steve, you hit the nail on the head! I’ve had great success fishing from the back of the boat while my buddy beats the bank during cold winter days and cold fronts in general. If I can get away with it, I’ll throw a Damiki Vault blade bait in 8-15+ feet of water and gingerly do a lift and fall retrieve.

That Damiki is a good, good presentation. I really have enjoyed filming cold front bass for the last year and seeing how consistent this has been. At least on my home lake.

Steve Rogers Outdoors it’s seems as they go to the “ guts “ of a cut or cove for a short time then move back to shoreline structure after the front has moved through! Good to know! I’m happy to see my hypothesis realized 🙏🎣

Very intresting.....kind of suprising alittle. The under water camera definitely helps prove that the fish don't make as big of of a movement as one might think or believe. Great info!

I agree. That really surprised me too. Each time I filmed pre and post cold fronts for the last year it was the same. It totally changed the way I fish cold fronts now. Thanks for watching!

Awesome! I hope you enjoy it. I went a fished for those bass with a shaky head when I finished filming. It took about 10 minutes before they bit. Lol.

Invaluable information! Thanks for sharing! I wonder how deep this holds true? Do you think they'd do the same thing if the bottom didn't flatten until 15, 20, 25+ft?
@SteveRogersOutdoors
@SteveRogersOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I think in clear water, it has the chance too. Muddy water I would say the movement would stay pretty small. I'll have to keep doing more research!
