I am a weirdo, Turbo is my favourite album.

One thing to note : i absolute LOVE Redeemer Of Souls i know the production isn't strong but those songs i just love so much Redeemer Of Souls came at a time when i really needed them

Priest has been my #1 band since 1980. Firepower and Invincible Shield are both incredible. Richie Faulkner guitar work really stands out. Rob continues to amaze. My Priest fav in order. 1 Screaming for Vengeance 2 Defenders of the Faith 3 Firepower 4 invincible shield 5 British Steel 6 Hell Bent for Leather 7 Painkiller 8 Unleashed in the East 9 Redeemer of Souls 10 Ram it Down.

For me right up there in the top 3 with Painkiller and Defenders, overtaking Screaming already! I think Painkiller is still no.1 for me but now undecided between this and Defenders, still digesting this new banger!

Best since Defenders. So diverse. Pleasant surprise.

Just listened to it for the first time. Best Priest album since Painkiller.

It's right after Painkiller then Firepower Then Redeemer Of Soul's then Angel of Retribution in that order

I must be missing something or need to digest it more. I just haven't heard one song that I connect with yet.

I would put this album right up there with painkiller simply on the strength of the guitar work

I grew up with Hell Bent For Leather in my 8 track in my 75 Ford Mustang. I love that era of Priest. That is the real Priest. The orher era of Priest is when Richie joined. That to me is a different Priest . I also dig Rocka Rolla.

Hard to say I still predominantly listen to 70s and 80s priest still more than anything from the current generation but they still put out 🔥

I'm a late 70's Priest guy. As good as this new one is, it doesn't come close to albums like Sad Wings Of Destiny, Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hellbent For Leather. That to me is prime Judas Priest. I think when ranking Priest albums you need to section certain eras off from others. Like 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's and 2020's. Because they all had way different productions in different decades. And in some decades the quality wasn't there. 1. 70's Priest - Stained Class (10) 2. 80's Priest - Defenders Of The Faith (9.5) 3. 2020's Priest - Firepower (9.3) 4. 90's Priest - Painkiller (9,0) 5. 2010's Priest. - Redeemer Of Souls (8.0) I gotta go by eras and not so much albums from beginning to end. I guess the bottom line is Judas Priest have always put out high quality Heavy Metal in a 50 year span (with a few exceptions.) This last one is another high quality piece of Heavy Metal history. and it gets a 9.2.

Ok, you SHOULD NOT be arguing if it's in their top 5. C'mon people. Look at their history. Based on the 3 songs i heard, I can't imagine it topping Firepower. Ralph i know you like your Judas Priest albums to flow with variety and i know Painkiller for you is one sided straight plain with hardly no variations but I never would of thought you woukd put Invincible Shield over Painkiller because i know you still like Painkiller...your opinions mean alot only become my own opinions are extremely similar to yours and when i heard you passed the other 8 songs off Invincible Shield i tried to not like a song or 2 but i couldn't lol Thumbs up man

None of the panel, reveres, or places SWOD, in their top5?!!!! It BLOWS my mind. Cmon Jimmy. Yes, there are fewer songs. But it’s The Metal God’s favourite & mine. For a reason. It set the 2nd wave of heavy metal on its course! That alone, destroys the fewer tracks argument. Either way. Good discussion! 🤘

I've only heard the pre-released songs so far, and imo the first 3 songs released would not even make Firepower. So I need to hear this, cuz I can't believe what y'all are saying.

way too early to do that... In the beginning since I remember (1981) new Priest and Halford Albums the New one has always been (unless the Ripper Albums) the Nr. 1. So now it is Nr. 1 for me. I suspect this one could remain on my top 5.- So before I heard Invincible Shield my Top 5 had been: Nostradamus, Screaming for Vengeance, Firepower, Resurrection, Unleashed (Priest) in the East. So Invincible is leading now. 10+/10

My thoughts on your thoughts: In my opinion music should not be too much a calculation - it should be more a feeling... So I don't care what I think in a year... right now I am exited in the highest level...

About 15th best out of 19, towards the bottom.

I just listening to this today for the first time and I can say as a fan of megadeth, this album sounds more like megadeth than Judas priest minus the vocals. Even crown of horns is like something megadeth done in the 90s. Great album though. The guitar solo on devil in disguise sounds like Slash. The rest sounds very similar to Chris Broderick from megadeth in my opinion.

It is in the top 5 easy.

DOTF SFV Turbo Painkiller Invincible Shield These are mine. Personally I think Turbo is way underrated and British Steel is way overrated. Just my opinion.

Now that I've played the deluxe album of Invincible Shield, it's middle of the pack. Not as good as Firepower, probably in with Hell Bent, Defenders, and others. Not subpar like Point of Entry and Demolition, but not close to top like Screaming, B.S., and Painkiller.

I rank Invincible Shield at #10 of #19 that's pretty good man Firepower is better but that shouldn't be a negative issue it's HARD to top a record like Firepower so hey Invincible Shield still kicks ass ...Glenn Tipton is INVOLVED wayyyy more than what people think

Imho. Too early to rate, just about right time for firepower to be rated.

Hmmm, When you said you liked Demolition you were out of the equation to review anything. That's the way I feel about it!

The album is better than Firepower and Redeemer and also AOR and Nostradamus...easily better than Jugulator and Demolition...Ram it Down and Turbo. It'a even with Painkiller and not better than any of their prior albums from DOTF back....

It's not easy to make a list of the 10 greatest Priest albums but it's easy to say that they were all before and including painkiller. So I like Firepower and Invincible Shield but Angel of Retribution is better than both. And they're all in the bottom half of best of all time. Rocka Rolla, ram it down and turbo are the worst. I can't even listen to rocka rolla anymore. And the ones they did with Ripper Owens, great voice, terrible songs.

I love how everyone thinks little of Screaming for Vengeance while also trashing Painkiller by thinking this album is better or an improvement but Im not the one trying to memorize a press release full of hype.

Nostradomus blows Firepower and Invincible away.

9.5 is a ridiculous high ranking. The likes of back in black and iconic albums like that should only be over 7 or 8. That's my opinion.

No way is the new album close to any of Judas Priest Classics all of their 70's records are sacred.The 80's records are amazing,till the turbo album then Painkiller came out.This record is good not a classic, heard the record a couple of times no song reallly stays in my head.I saw priest live with Maiden in 1982 at madison square garden then again in 1984 last time was 2008 amazing memories a long time time fan but like i said The new album is good but no way near the classic albums.
