Where Eagles Dare, made in 1968, and written by Alistair MacLean who penned the screenplay and the novel, has been an obsession for over 40 years. Opinion is divided, but for many, this wartime action and spy thriller is the greatest war movie ever made.
Over the years we've seen a seven-twenty p or HD version, more recently improving to ten-eighty p resolution on Blu-ray, but never getting to the holy grail of a 4K version that fans have been craving.
It's only fitting that, as the movie approaches its 60th birthday, we took this classic movie as the first to give an upscaling facelift.
