Sveiciens no Latvijas!

Turklāt no Jums staro tāds pozitīvisms. Lai forša diena!

I'm almost 70, born in Cyprus but moved to New Zealand when young. I've been sewing for half a century and am learning heaps so thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. For what it's worth you have a lovely voice and your accent is fine. Please ignore the negative comments. Some people just can't help themselves. PS. Button holes are easy with sewing machines that create them automatically.

Greetings from a 71 y/o American living in The Netherlands. I’m an experienced sewist who thoroughly enjoys your videos. Your ease with pattern drafting pegged you at once as a European. I have lived part of your dream traveling to textile factories and markets in Asia (India, Nepal, & Thailand). In Chiang Mai Thailand I took a class from a college professor whose expertise was Hill Tribe Textiles. We harvested and processed indigo, dyed our fabric, and sewed it. Fabulous experience. I definitely encourage to follow that dream! I enjoyed your answers but was a bit surprised at some of the invasive questions. 😬

First, thank your husband, and you, for your service!! I am watching from Northeast Arkansas, here in the USA, so I do know who Dolly Parton is! I did notice a "difference" in your voice, but my profession was Speech/Language Pathology therefore I was trained to focus on an individual's speech/voice and had to have voice therapy myself due to a medical issue. Your story of how you overcame this trial is very inspiring. I so enjoy your upbeat positive attitude and this time of Q & A. God bless you! And your little girl is a little doll!!

I discovered you about a year ago. I found your instructions for self-drafting amazing! In fact, because of your inspiration, I self-drafted a jacket -- my first ever after 60 years of sewing!!! And, even if I don't self-draft, I feel that I have knowledge that I can use to tweek fitting or shape on the commercial or indy patterns I make. I find you charming, and your instructional information excellent. Thank you for sharing your background, and your thoughts on your life and your career. Keep it coming!

Good grief! Your voice is FINE! How rude to comment on it! I started sewing on my mother’s old, black singer machine when I was about 10. But I’m not in your league! Thank you for your wonderful videos. I live in Maryland, USA, but grew up in many places, since my father was in the army. I got to go on a wonderful trip in 2019 visiting Latvia for a Rye Bakers Tour. I loved Latvia and Riga! Beautiful, beautiful country!

I am very voice tone sensitive(squeaky voices grate on my ears) and I’ve never thought your voice was annoying. As others have said, it’s a softer, lovely tone. As you shared what your little voice box went through as a child I can see how grateful you are to have your voice!! And as you were sharing here how much you love sewing and how much joy it brings you to share with others I know this touched you WAY down deep into your heart, so much so you wanted to cry!! Such kindness from your heart shines through 💖 And the WORK it takes for you to present each and every video - WOW!! You have such commitment to your craft, thank you for sharing it with us ❤❤❤

This is such a charming video! You are so natural and open! You’ll smile when you read that I never thought your voice is a problem. It makes you unique as well as talented. If you think of why a singer is ‘popular’, the singer has something unique about his/her voice…..therefore memorable! Joy Bernhardt told her viewers to watch you. Glad I found you!

Thanks for being open to talk about yourself. I am watching from Australia and definitely know of Dolly Parton. My least favorite part of sewing is setting sleeves and I will avoid it as much at possible 😂 I think your voice is sweet and it would be boring if we all sounded the same.

Greetings from Kansas! I've been sewing for 53 years. I made my wedding dress on an old Singer treadle machine that had been modified with an old, stand-alone motor to turn the wheel. Used it a lot in my teens, even replacing zippers on my jeans. I just subscribed and love to watch your pattern drafting videos - so glad you're keeping the art of home sewing alive!!

Thank you for demonstrating such courage to address the comments about your voice. Your journey and how your parents dealt with the situation is inspiring. You are such a beautiful person, your voice included. Your kindness and passion for teaching come across in every video. Anyone who has negative things to say about you, is really only conveying a deficiency in themselves. It makes me sad that so many helpful people on KZfaq have to deal with such meanness. All we can do is pray for them and move along. Your daughter is such a sweet pea. Thank you for sharing your story with us ❤

I am so sorry you have received negativity about your voice! I noticed your voice, but I love it. I find it incredibly charming and engaging. I get similar YT comments about my hair, which also has its origins in a childhood medical issue. May God bless you, little sister, for the very gracious way you addressed this (and other) sensitive topics! And I agree: Praise God through Christ Jesus for all the ways we can share with each other all around the world.
