Hang in there Trav… when are u in Edmonton? Maybe I can make it out to say Hi! I was just recently thrown a curveball myself. Laid off suddenly from my job of 5 years, so been home a couple weeks. Done feeling sorry for myself and now trying to better myself for what’s next! Also back to playing shinny regularly after rotator cuff repair in September. Life is what u make of it 😊

Is it the MHL league out here in Colorado and if so what team? I play in that league but for a team out of Utah. It’s a fun league. A lot of former AHL, ECHL, FPHL and European pro guys are in it.

Great video trav and I’m excited to see where this opportunity takes you, but I always wonder why you do so much upper body work in the gym when goalies don’t need upper body strength and mass they need more mobility and stability

And you’re right core strength is very important for goalies however trav doesn’t seem to ever to show any core work in his vids. Obviously his vids don’t show everything he does but you get the point

Everyone should follow their dreams. But the attitude that you're a top three FPHL goalie when you've been on four teams in the league and haven't even been the third best goalie on your roster is not serving you well. A dose of reality will help you move toward success.

@@trav4oilers All of them? Of course not. You spent an entire season talking about how much better Trevor Babin is than you are. There are multiple guys with similar numbers to Babin, facing similar shots with similar goal support. Either they're all better than you, or none of them are, including Babin. Which is it? I realize this is a carny league and plenty of decisions are made that don't put quality of play at the top of the list, but there's not a grand conspiracy to keep one of the eleven best goalies from having a net. "They don't appreciate what I bring to the table" definitely happens. It might even happen twice in a row. But to continue to frame your lack of success as everyone else's fault is not the way forward.

You may want to talk to the Canadian State Department about Russia. They may highly advise against it. You could end up being framed or worse, even stranded and not able to come back without your governments help. The biggest question I have is: Why would Russia want a lower tier player for a tournament when there are tons of retired or former NHL level talent to go to Russia for a tournament? This is fishy to say the least. Be careful Trav; you have been lucky to not experience the shit the world is so full of.

Still doesn't take away the fact that both countries governments recommend NOT going to Russia and recommends citizens leave Russia. Don't get me wrong, there is always opportunity, but under different circumstances I would be all for it.

The Canadian government recommends against travel to Russia but this is nonsense and propaganda. Lots of Canadians travel to Russia for work collaborations and for hockey. I have acquaintances that travel to Moscow multiple times a year for work reasons. No issues. Don't live in fear. Just live.

Trav you will love Russia, I was living there for awhile. Of course the political situation is unfortunate, but the world keeps spinning, people in the comments are dramatic, if you act normal you're not going to be randomly thrown in prison or something, tons of Americans and Canadians still in Russia playing in the KHL, playing basketball, etc. and Russians were always friendly, they're not their government. The only thing that will suck is only like 1 in 10 people there know English. But cities like St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan are some of the most lovely and safest in the world.
