I'd like to imagine the "they" are the other markiplier egos; and dark is saying that he has to work to get were he is today, and once he'd done the hard work the other egos were just accepted instantaneously. He has what he wanted, power, influence, our attention, and is so close to using that to get his revenge on Mark; (also maybe that the person shooting him down and saying he'd always all is antisepticeye, mocking him and trying to take what he has) but dark knows (when the wheel slows down) that it's almost like he's back to square one after all the chaos has settled and everyone goes back to thinking he's not real.

I just watched the wkm commentary stream... this fits really well now once you learn that Dark is literally the result of the "darkness" telling Damien and Celine what they want to hear and manipulating them into becoming Darkiplier. Or something like that... it got really confusing.

Becky Weber it hurts even more now that (Spoiler ⚠️ Warning ) BASICALLY I AM EXTRA SHOOK AND HURT AND ISSKFNAKDJDODMDJSKS MARK WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO US,!?!?!!!?!!!! ;-; A) We got confirmation that y/n got kicked out of their body B) the thing in the house created Dark from the worst parts of Celine and Damien C) ‘Damien’ is basically the one in control with influences of what pieces are left of his SISTER(also confirmed?) and is thinking kicking us out was the best solution thanks to the entity in the house D) While there’s no indications of William/Wilford comprehending What Dark really is without denial, there are lil hints (“I respect you” and how he only called him by Will so far, since you’d think he’d call him Ford to distance the person he is now to what he was before he drowned in his insanity, or just try and forget the man entirely and pretend Wilford is a different person/ not too far off lmao/ which means that he still remembers/doesn’t want to forget the man Wilford was but not wanting to just outright remind him of his true past and what happened since he was tricked into unintentionally starting this whole thing.

Lmao a lot of people are saying this sounds like Mark... No it doesn’t.. maybe a little because the singers and Marks voice are deep, but the Singers voice is much deeper then Marks .^.
