I think Damian was never gonna take that mantle. He's always had something much larger than Gotham in mind. With showing shades of Batman even before he became Robin, it was no doubt he'd outgrow the vigilante business, and just like Jason he was gonna eventually come to the conclusion that Batman's no kill methods weren't gonna work. Great vid!

I really like the idea of Damien taking up his grandfather's mantle while also following more of Bruce's teachings. Its just nice to know that Bruce did managed to get his son to do good even though he was raised with a very different idea of what good is. I really hope they bring back the League of Assassins with Damien at the helm since it could lead to some very interesting conflicts.

Terry isn't a clone. His fathers reproductive DNA was over written so that he could pass on Bruce's DNA to his children, so Damian, Terry and Matt are Bruce's biological children.

Damien was naturally conceived by a drugged Bruce and Talia having procreation. It can be speculated that Talia subjected herself to treatments so that fetus Damien would be enhanced in all areas of physical abilities to be a replacement body for Grandfather Ras Al Ghul.

I love Terry as the Batman of the Future, Damian I would say I always saw him as someone who would take over the League of Shadows/Assassins and take it to a less lethal direction, definitely a less extreme one at least

I like all the Robins for different reasons, but Damian is the first one I would consider worthy of the Bat mantle. The others are too independent, wanting to become something else. Happy to be trained by the best, but then forge their own paths. Damien wanted to take over the mantle from day one (granted his way involved less criminals in prison cells and more in the ground lol). My 8yr old daughter also thinks Damien is the best Robin, I should be worried that she is attracted to the kid who plays with swords lol

Zyon Chaos I agree that he will be suited, but I also think that Terry could surpass him. Damian, for all his progress, can be very harsh at times. He may not return to murdering but he will go places Bruce will not (like when the Question was going to kill Luthor in order to prevent Clark from doing so, thereby saving the world.) I think that I would like for him not to turn into Batman when he's older, but wearing a uniform that (though equipped with the Bat symbol) is distinctly Damian (traits of assassin's clothing). It'd be cool to have Damian leave Robin for a few years to train away from Gotham then have him return with one or two new allies his age, and reunite with Colin and Jon. But that's just me, lol.

Terry has the same DNA as Bruce through the CADMUS program. Terry was still conceive through his biological mom and father sperm. Therefore, he is not the biological son of Bruce Wayne. Just merely coded with the same DNA that allows him to have the same drive to protect Gotham.

"... feels like I have two sons." Well, yeah, Bruce, that's because you do. Or has the "Epilogue" episode of JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED been made non-canon? To briefly summarize: Bruce got old. Amanda Waller wanted to make a new Batman. Mr. McGuiness' DNA was secretly rewritten to that of Bruce Wayne. Therefore, biologically Terry McGuiness is the son of Bruce Wayne and half-brother to Damien.

I think it's pretty clear that this simply happens before Terry and Bruce find out. For all we know, this comic influenced the episode where they decide that he is indeed actually his son.

Azure Pulse yeah this does happen before terry and Bruce know. You can tell by the way Bruce looks. In the comic he still has his grey hair and terry is still a teen/young adult. In the epilogue episode of justice league Bruce has no hair anymore and terry is now a 30 year old man.

Ozz Lee Actually, they just went back to the original art style this book started with. It shifted for awhile merely to make it look more like the cartoon, which also made Barbara look much older than she really was. However, I guess they changed it back because it caused too much confusion.

The reason Damien didn't appear in Batman Beyond until now was because he didn't exist until after the show ended. The comics do well to continue the story of the show while adding in new things that didn't exist back when the show did.

Tim in the Animated series is actual Jason with Tim's name slapped on him and that is the reason why he was once again left out of the Beyond series. Outside media often changes things a lot to make it easier for the general public.

Yes, but by the time Batman TAS was made, Jason was long dead in the comics and Tim was Robin. So it was easier to just ignore Jason's existence for the show and make Tim the new Robin after Dick left.

@@hiarus8850 I certainly like his time as Red Robin the best. He expanded the mission field of the Batfamily by being the guy who fights the over seas crime that connects to Gotham. Batman might beat up the drug dealer in Gotham, but somebody has to go beat up that dealers source who lives overseas in Columbia. He made the war on crime feel more sophisticated by seeing the bigger picture

If I remember correctly in the OG Batman TAS cartoon Tim Drake was a mix of comic book Jason Todd and Tim Drake. They gave him a similar backstory to Jason's like his dad worked for Two-Face and was killed and they gave the character the name of Tim Drake. So I'm not sure that Batman Beyond has Jason.

So sad no love for Tim Drake. Tim Drake is actually one of my favorites. He's like one of those sons that doesn't piss off the parents and relative to the other sons(robins), he listens better. Its like.. first son Grayson he's the first child so he acts like it, the older bro being like Im a grown ass man now cant treat me like a child. And Jason Todd is such a middle child he kinda acts out and is a bit of a wild child with crazy temperament . Tim Drake he's like I watched the two previous Robins stress the old man out so yeah Im gonna try not to stress him out and do shit right.

I would've loved it if Damien had a more prominent role in the Batman universe! Not just as a pop up character! Him coming back as the new Raz, that's cool, but I would much prefer him to be the new Batman! Now that woulda fantastic on so many levels! I hear the new Robin movie is coming, and truthfully it's long overdue. But I would love to see a Damien Wayne movie, now that's something you could sink your teeth into!!!!

For those of you wondering. The current Batman Beyond comic does not follow the DCAU universe, and instead takes place in a future version of the current mainstream comics, otherwise known as Earth 0. This is why characters like Damien Wayne and John Samuel Kent are present when they didn't exist in the DCAU, why Barbara looks younger, and why Tim Drake was seemingly never the Joker.

Now we just have to know what happened to Jason Todd in the future. Be interesting to see him as some kind of cyborg (the only real way he could fight on despite his age), he could be more of an anti hero, mostly coming into conflict with Terry but perhaps occasionally allying with him. Perhaps he can be Damian's new right hand man next time he makes an appearance.

yeah and Tom Cruise is 50 and looking like late 30s. You can expect physically fit characters (except Batman probably, who had too many strains and risks than any of the batfamily to be in better health) to look younger than average. Heck, Damian is supposed to be in his 40's (going by Gotham Academy where Terry's father was a student around the characters' age).

I think Damian, did the right thing in taken control of the league of assassins now that Raz is now gone. He can still help Terry when Bruce is gone for good. Like how to fight better. lol By Damian taking control of the LoA it will prevent them from splintering and cause more chaos all over the world by doing what ever they want.

I just realized something...in the show it's revealed that in an attempt to create a new Batman Terry's father had his genes modified involuntary so that his child will be the son of Bruce Wayne...so does that make Terry and Damian brothers?

I like the fact that they made Damian abandon the Batman mantle by himself and didn't create another reason for why he isn't Batman that would have been insulting to him. Plus, he's also the heir to the LoA and he can do lots of great stuff with it.

Damien still living is rather nice. I know they had to do something to nudge the others away for Terry to come in but.. I'd rather they had lived in other cities or rolls. Rather then doing what they did to Tim or weird love triangles.

Bruce Wayne's Batman is always about the mission and doing what it takes to accomplish it mentally physically emotionally planning financially with the ruthless efficiency, and so is Damian Wayne, for those reasons and the fact that no one is better trained than Damian Wayne means Damian Wayne should have been the next Batman.

Damian's not an antagonist either. He's the good Ra's Al Ghul of the future. Most of his hostility is just from his regular attitude. And they're mostly cool now.

Bruce only has that mission because of his childhood tragedy - making Dick a more fitting replacement. Bruce is also an excellent detective, making Tim a fitting replacement. Terry is genetically Bruce's son too, remember.

Ken Hunter, thats true but its better if damian stayed on raz al gool's path (way of life) because this way he could incorporate two ways of looking at whats right or wrong, whats nessessry and insignificsnt to presurve or not. What im sayingis is its better if there was a nutral character within the batman universe. That would be damian. He has ways of thinking like the joker, instead accepted and honoured by bruce wayne due to previously being a version of batman, whom bruce trained. Oh yeah also his the son of batman

awe :') Damian Goliath was his only link remaining to the Bat family, he is part of his old life and redemption to being a great hero. Yes, it makes sense that he would fall again as his mind is stubborn with violence and ferocity, but this was a great story to show how batman beyond ties into the rebirth and new 52 universe :)

Actually it isn't a surprise Damian beat him even when he was little he was still considered one of the best fighters in the batfamily and is feared (sometimes) by the Justice league when he is standing up to Batman because when the other Robin's were small they didn't stand up to him at all.
