Favorite cartoon and favorite scene of ALL TIME. I will go into senility remembering this scene, lol. I wish I could get the whole movie on DVD.

I still quote "Where's mawee ayon (Mary Ann)" whenever I'm looking for something and "Der (There) she is!" when I find it. I'm such a dork haha.

John Kittredge Hahahaha! I was JUST telling my sister ( who was only 2 in 1987 and doesn't remember it ) about how my cousin and I would recite the entire show from memory as it played. Lol she and I were ten. And this was our favorite part.

yeah, i felt sorry for the dog, but i think that's a good thing.. its shock value makes people realize they need to pay more attention to their own pets well-being. the dog did eventually get a drink you know.. ruining any chance the owner had of winning the dog show and embarrassing him.

This was one of the funniest shows I had seen...this scene is one of my favorites, so glad to find this on here!

As I recall, when the program finally went to series in 1991, the show tanked because the first episode depicted the dog parched with thirst and the family entirely indifferent to his dilemma, whereas the Amazing Stories pilot showed the dog eventually triumphant. Any dog lover was appalled watching him helplessly wanting a drink. It should have been structured so that the family's callousness carried its own punishment, and the dog shown a repeated beneficiary of all their stupid foibles.
