The conclusion is...Waffle is cute and I want him!

I love these videos so much, not only is it super interesting but what I love the most is that you show the whole process with a young cheeky dog and the way you react when it doesn’t go perfect is so helpful. A lot of dog training videos only show dogs that already have had quite a bit of training or they have “easy” dogs that really want to work but a bouncy cocker spaniel has a very different energy level then most dogs used in dog training videos.

Good to see him not doing as he’s told! My training got punctuated by injury and it’s like he was never trained. Only 2 weeks but he was wild today. Good to see a pup failing a bit but keeping on the programme without stress

Love your vids,sadly I no longer shoot nor need a gun dog ( although I have a 5mth Lab pup) however I find your training translates really well to real world. It's been a while since I had a young pup (and a Lab at that). However with the knowledge I have , yours is a timely reminder of things I may have forgotten or slipped on. All the best ,James

I think I’m going to have to move to Scotland, I’d love to swap the cold hard ground for the swamp clay soil in East Anglia. Great to see Waffle and I totally agree that giving them a break is no bad thing.

Very useful. My springer is the same age and it seems he has a similar character to Waffle, so each video gives me something very useful. Morty is developing good manners, is pretty steady at heel and when a ball or dummy is thrown, A few times he has got the scent of a deer or a badger and buggered off with determination. Try and correct with running the other way like a loony, works most of the time, but a couple of times he has disappeared for five minutes. Worried that he has discovered there are more interesting things than dummies in the woods, so currently keeping him on a long lead and trying to reward him more for staying close. Want to try him off lead again, but a bit nervous about it. Any suggestions? Keep the useful videos coming.

Hi Charlie Good to see Waffle again! He is a beautiful boy and so sweet natured, which we know you have bred in as we have one of your Springers! Given the torture practices of the dog meat trade in East Asia, I wonder do you export dogs to countries that eat dogs and if so, how do you go about ensuring the dogs will have a safe life in these places? The theft of dogs even from responsible owners is a big problem over there. They target well cared for dogs due to the fact they are healthy and looked after, and will coordinate thefts even from secured enclosures. A discussion video response on this would be greatly reassuring. The thought of my dog’s lovely relatives or any dogs suffering so people can eat them is absolutely horrendous, heartbreaking 💔

we got 2 cockers an i think ....its naturally in erm ...i must say i cant see me ever getting ant other breed now ...weve got jarvis an buddy an gotta say always get complements on our dogs . says it all 😊

Charlie I'd love to know your thoughts on people who say slip leads are dangerous to dogs. I'd love to get your input on it. Most trainers I see online who show corrections for dog walking use a slip lead.
