Where Scarface (1983) was made in Miami. A look at the Scarface filming locations 40 years later! Including the iconic chain saw massacre scene on Ocean Dr. The Sunray hotel has recently become a CVS that anyone can access. I hope you enjoy my little vlog! Much ahead!

Why would they butcher such a iconic place. They should have kept the room and made it an attraction

Right?!?! I got to see that stretch of Ocean Blvd mid 80s Was pretty beat up and just starting to be renovated However the buildings were all still painted in those wonderful colors I know all the white is modern and all but really they need to restore it back to those iconic Miami art deco colors Fountain Bleu as well Since Goldfinger , the poolside beach cabanas were sooooo Miami Modernization isn't always a good idea

True story, I lived in Naples Fl in the early 80s I worked at a new movie theater there called The Pavilion. Scarface was playing there. One night Al Pacino and Stephen Baur came there to watch Scarface. They wanted to see the audience reaction. Long story short, He was very nice Mr Pacino. Signed a movie poster we had for Scarface. Said a line from the movie and gave us girls a kiss. ❤️😊. Thanks for the great Vlog And Chris the girl

I'm so sad to see that so many Miami Vice locations have been lost over time. The OCB Building is a great example of this. It's a real shame that they've now destroyed the only original Scarface filming location in Miami too.

I have to say that your Scarface video is one of the best KZfaq videos I've watched in a while. I'm a big Scarface fan and to see the area's in Miami where the movie was made had me smiling throughout your presentation. Very well executed in every respect. Our national news media could take a lesson from how well you explained the movie. Being a Tampa guy I also love your other videos like the Manatee River bridge, (Orange Blossom Special). Keep up the great work and I'll stay a loyal follower.

Yet, I was hooked and infatuated with this movie before ANY of the other movies I put ahead of it today (Goodfellas, The Godfather) I hadn't seen them yet, this was my first true mob/crime movie.

Great tour! I've never seen Scarface, but love Miami Vice and it's interesting to see how close in time Scarface and MV were, but just how much more modern and advanced MV looked than did Scarface. Funny to think about because so many people complain about the change in fashion from early MV to later MV, when you compare MV and Scarface and just how different they looked. People want to smash all 10 years of the 80s into one look when that is far, far from the truth.

Tampa Jay, I was in Miami back in 1988. My buddy and I was in the right place at the right time, and we saw a night scene between two buildings there on South Beach being filmed for Miami Vice. When you videoed in the alley for this video, I almost thought it was the same alley where they filmed the night scene. It wasn't though. Miami is an awesome place.

While near Miami, you have to see a place called "Aerojet" that is south of homestead Florida in everglades swampland. Its a huge complex of a dozen or more buildings spread way apart in the middle of nowhere. Its been abandoned since the 60's when they mixed solid rocket fuel in one set of buildings, and fired the rockets from the most remote buildings and silo. Urban explorers go there sometimes but you need a bicycle or its a long walk down a long road that fish and wildlife used excavators to tear up in places so you can't drive there. Buildings are open, no doors mostly, and lots of cool rocket making stuff.

I had no idea the Kapok Tree was used for Scarface. We lived in Ft. Lauderdale from 1977-1979, our son was born there in 1978. We went to the Kapok Tree several times and it was way away from everything at that time, I guess now it is not. It was such a beautiful place and had great food. After our son was born we took my husband's parents there and have several pictures of us sitting near the fountain, etc. In Clearwater there was another Kapok Tree and Baumgartner's, owned by the same people. I know they all went under, so sad. I wonder if in Clearwater the tree is even still there, it was huge.
