If you are looking for the best food in Goa, Bhatti Village is the place.
I am in Goa nearly after a decade and the food scene around was disappointing at 1st. I could see veg restaurants, Punjabi Food, Gujarati Food, Hyderabadi Dum Briyani et al. While I love all kinds of food and never discriminate, I still wanted a traditional, delicious Goan Catholic Meal Experience. And for that I went to Nerul Village in Goa to a restaurant called Bhatti Village. A mom and pop restaurant it serves the best Goan Catholic meal. In fact some of the dishes like a Pork Bendisol, Whitebait Fish and many more are typically found in a Goan Catholic homes.

In ratnagiri area, a small variety called बिरज्या is used for curry. This curry tastes damn great & rich in calcium

Seeing you enjoy the food, literally makes me want to book a flight to Goa immediately. Dear Kunal ji, you should definitely make your plans for the NE. Although, we don’t have sea food, but definitely hell lot of fresh water fishes (small to huge), crabs, shrimps exists. You’ll get to taste most of NE state’s cuisine in Guwahati itself, plus of the different ethnic tribes of Assam. Meghalaya is another must visit for Khasi cuisine, which you won’t get in Assam. And, if you are adventurous enough and wanna try something different, Nagaland it is. Best time would be in an around Nov end and Dec first week is the Hornbill festival. Rice beer and barbecued pork is the way to go. 🍻

I'm a little apprehensive when people cover bhatti village, this is a famous hidden gem, just don't want it to turn into another baga, selfish reasons 😅. The food and the hosts are amazing. My favourites-Samrachi kodi and suckling pig. A must visit.

We visited this place last year and enjoyed the lovely dishes available there.Yesterday for lunch after arriving in Goa we visited Bhatti village.Had all the dishes repeated and so yum..not had enough of it.Missed the dry fish curry.For that we have to go again.We have the passion for food same like yours Vijay!

Thank you so much. As looking for some good goan food which is a rarity in goa ironically with all the udipi and Punjabi restaurants. One advice would be to pump up your audio which gets drowned in the strong background score. You aren't audible enough and we watch this for you 😊

Kunal sir , if you are in Goa pls try chaya Naik non veg food near शांतादुर्गा temple..... it's simply delicious. Also try Veg food in shantadurga temple name कुमार भटजी house it's authentic and satvik food... it's sure you never tried before 🙏

Have been there and enjoyed the goan food. While the decore is unique with vats which store urak& feni with lots of antique feel knick naks. However, I have eaten better quality & fresher stuff in couple of smaller places in goa.Had tried rawa fried Motiali or silver fish, pork & even prawn balchao. Met Roystern too- who very well explained intricacies of some dishes.The only dish that stood out is the dry shrimp curry which goes well with rice.Pricing is over the top- even for simple motiali fry which must be the most abnormally high margin item considering the local price. Serradura pudding was on par with what we tasted in Portugal though. Good to visit for an experience of this uniquely family run restaurant and make your own judgement.
